Starting in Firefox version 154, Firefox lets you choose a different browser icon on Windows. Choose from the available icons to personalize how Firefox appears in Windows.

Note: This feature is currently available only for Firefox on Windows. It isn't available for Firefox installed from the Microsoft Store, macOS or Linux.

Change the Firefox icon

  1. Click the menu button IG main menu and select Settings.
  2. Select Appearance on the left and go down to the Browser icon section.

  3. Click Change browser icon.
  4. Choose an icon from Standard or Special.

  5. Close Settings. Firefox applies your selection automatically.

Unlock special icons

Some icons in the Special section may require you to complete an action before you can use them.

For example, if you set Firefox as your default browser and also pin the browser, you’ll unlock bonus icons.

Note: The new icon will only be available on the taskbar, desktop and Start menu. The desktop launcher icon will not update.

Enabling a custom browser icon may add a shortcut to your Start Menu Program folder.
