Can I choose or change my IP address on Firefox Private Network?

Mozilla will end support for Firefox Private Network on June 20th, 2023. You'll no longer be able to subscribe to Firefox Private Network, or install, reinstall, or use the extension. As an alternative, learn more about creating a secure, private connection to the internet using Mozilla VPN.

When you connect using the Private Network browser-level protection (the Firefox extension), your IP address will change to a Cloudflare server IP address. You will not be able to choose the server location.

The full-device offering (VPN) allows you to choose a server location. Your local IP address will change to your chosen server’s IP address while you’re connected. See this Subscribe and install Firefox Private Network device-level protection for more details.
