Mozilla does not collect personal information or charge for software or technical support. Companies that ask you for payment for installing Firefox or Thunderbird, or for fixing problems with these programs are scammers and should be avoided.

Common scams

  • Virus warnings that tell you to call Mozilla Support.
  • Companies that charge you to install Firefox or Thunderbird programs, or claim to fix these programs for you.
  • Sites that use the Firefox or Thunderbird logos and offer customer support. Visit the only official support site (https://support.mozilla.org) for all your support needs.

If you encounter any of these scams visit the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Federal Trade Commission site (United States)] or your Econsumer.gov (international).

The only official Mozilla Support site is https://support.mozilla.org. Avoid seeking support with other sites, even if they use Firefox or Thunderbird logos.

Protect yourself against scams

  • Do not download Firefox, Thunderbird or any Mozilla software from third parties. Download only from official Mozilla sites:
  • Official Firefox download page
