This article will walk you though adding a second device (computer, Android phone, iPhone, etc.) to your Firefox Sync account.

Adding a device to Firefox Sync requires you to have set up a Sync account first. If you haven't done that, please see... ??

How do I Add a Device?

Do these steps in Firefox on a computer that already has your Sync account set up.

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Settings (select Preferences on older macOS versions).Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings. In the OptionsPreferences window, click on the Sync tab.
  2. In the Firefox Sync Account section, click on Add a Device and the Add a Device window will open.
  3. Enter the code in the Add a Device window as it's displayed on your second device. Then click Next.

  4. When the code is accepted you will see a Device Connected message in Firefox and your device will immediately begin syncing.

How do I Add a Device when I'm not near my computer?

Do these steps on the device you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
If you are trying to add a device to Firefox Sync and you are not near your computer so that you can enter the code, you can still get it done by entering your account information.

  1. From the Connect to Sync screen, clicktap I'm not near my computer...
  2. Next, enter your Account Name (email address), Password, Sync Key and clicktap Connect.

How do I add an Android or Maemo device?

Do these steps in Firefox on your Android or Maemo device.

  1. Tap the Menu button (either at the bottom right on some devices or in the upper right of the browser) , choose Settings (you may need to tap More first) and, finally, Sync.
  2. Tap the "Advanced setup..." link.

  3. Next, enter your Account Name (email address), Password, Recovery Key and tap Connect.

How do I add an iPhone?

Do these steps in Firefox Home. The template "addiphone" does not exist or has no approved revision.

How do I add another computer?

Do these steps on the computer you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.

  1. Click Set Up Firefox Sync.

  2. Click I Have A Firefox Sync Account.
  3. Enter your Sync email address and password and then click NextContinue.
  4. Enter your Sync Key and then click NextContinue.
