I want Perplexity gone as an option from the Search toolbar dropdown.

Added by FF - poor move on FF part. Unlike others, can't be removed any of the "traditiona" about: methods.

Need to have it go - we DO NOT want this used here.

Does that mean if you turn it off in Settings pane for Search providers, it does not get disabled?

Also, Agent virtuel means virtual agent in French. So AI garbage. Why picked French? GEO location failed.

JBR: re = turn it off in Settings pane for Search providers, it does not get disabled...doesn't exist there.

Enterprise should not be required. I am on a Windows domain but doesn't make it an enterprise!

No, that's a contributor from France. You shouldn't be making assumptions about other users trying to help you.

You're probably facing a bug (you can verify there's no wild scheme as you're hinting at in other threads simply by launching a fresh testing profile, to see the option to disable it in settings), this is from a clean profile, and that's what you were supposed to see there as well:

For space constraints I did not record the same using the separate Search dropdown, but it behaves the same way.

It sounds you're facing search settings issues long–term, according to support.mozilla.org/questions/1516604 — basically all of that you're mentioning there is configurable by end users in settings and millions do that successfully every day.

(Yes, disabling any of them, setting any as default, and using any custom like udm14–based ones are all expected workflows, that pretty much everyone uses around here.)

Sounds like something has been wrong with your profile or search prefs for a long time, and this is just another subset of a bigger problem honestly.
