I've just discovered that a lot of files I've downloaded in the last few months have the original file date instead of the download date. This has created total chaos and confusion with my organization as I have no idea when I did anything!

I presume Firefox has changed something. But why? When? What files does it affect? How do I change it back?

And why weren't we told about this huge change? After over 30 years downloading files from the web, it's become second nature that downloads always take the download date. A monumental change like this needs to be clearly signposted or it's going to create chaos with people's file systems and organization.

Update: On reflection, I think this is a Windows 10 bug, rather than a Firefox issue, so perhaps this thread should be deleted? I looked at the properties of the files in question and discovered that all three dates DO match the download date. The problem seems to be that WINDOWS ITSELF is displaying EXIF data dates instead of modified date. I only recently started using Windows 10 and this would seem to be a Windows 10 bug.

Hello, My brother clicked on "I am not a robot" popup after he clicked on an image to enlarge it on a website and then click on "allow" permission to send notification. So now there are always 3 notifications (like warning, viruses found, system alert, etc.) on the screen that will pop back on right after I close one. This is pretty annoying. I went to the firefox settings, in "privacy & security", scrolled down to "permissions" and "notifications" section, changed the status of that website from "allow" to "block", and then (and it may be my fault here, but how could I know ?) clicked on "remove website" just below. Well, now the website is not there anymore, but I am still getting annoying warnings notification that can't be close. We can see the adress (don't know if I can write it up here, but you can see in the photos attached) on the notifications, so I opened up a new tab and wrote it down manually to be able to click on "block" directly, but I am just getting a white page (no window to click "I am not a robot" and no window to ask to allow notifications). I clicked on the little shield icon that is at the left to the address bar and then clicked on "clear cookies and site data", but it did not change anything. I am at loss here. I went back to the website with the image on it that my brother clicked to enlarge, and I clicked this image too. The same thing happened (robot, allowing notification popups), but the address is different (you know when it's a long non sense address... always almost the same but with some different letters/numbers) . So I can block this one, but not the one that is still allowed somehow to send me notifications. I closed firefox then restarted it, no change. Any ideas ? (Sorry the photos are not straight, don't know why because I can see them just fine upon opening)

Firefox browsers are not working on the Office 365 web portal. None of the links in the site work. The apps link for Office apps is missing. We have tried it from multiple computers and used both Firefox and Waterfox. The Office portal loads but is stuck on Web more and clicking on the Work tab at the top does nothing. Clicking on anything else on the page also does nothing. The same portal page works normally in Edge and Chrome.

Since updating to the new Firefox 150.0 (aarch64) - two of our client's websites are having issues with too big/distorted logos (png files).

Sites are A-OK in Sarfari and Chrome.

solarisiaq.com

Remade the images and re-uploaded (thinking the files were corrupt). Did not fix the situation. Cleared every cache available (object, builder, browser, hosting).

Could there be an issues with the browser?

I have my personal account with my personal email setup in both my home PC and laptop. I want to setup a new user profile linked to a work email to hold those passwords and bookmarks separately, and be able to sync it when using my laptop as well. I would also like to be able to have both accounts open at the same time in different windows (i.e. a "work window" with the work account, and a "personal window" with my personal account)

Is this possible? How would I go about it? I looked around the about:profiles tab, but that seems to only configure profiles for my already logged in account (the personal one). I think that what I should do is create a new firefox account with my work email and give that account a profile, but I don't know if I can be logged in to 2 accounts at the same time, and I'm not sure Firefox will show me both profiles at startup, or only the ones linked to the currently logged in account. I haven't tried this because I'm unsure if I could lose my currently open tabs.

I have recently purchased a new Windows 11 computer, and want to install Firefox there and transfer all my bookmarks, passwords, etc. There are obviously quite a few Support articles on this topic, and seemingly quite a few methods to use: copy and paste profile folder, sync, the backup/restore function within Settings, etc. I'm a bit reluctant to use sync, as some users report it can be an incomplete transfer. My current profile also may contain some "corruption", so I'm reluctant to copy the entire profile folder to the new computer.

Comments by esteemed and superb contributor cor-el in this Support article: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1454070] therefore may be my best option. He wrote:

Note that best is to avoid restoring a full profile folder and only restore important files that are safe to restore/transfer.

   bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
   favicons: favicons.sqlite
bookmark backups: compressed .jsonlz4 JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
   cookies.sqlite for the Cookies
formhistory.sqlite for saved autocomplete Form Data
logins.json (encrypted logins) and key4.db (encryption key/primary password) for logins saved in the Password Manager
cert9.db for certificates stored in the Certificate Manager
persdict.dat for words added to the spell checker dictionary
permissions.sqlite for Permissions and possibly content-prefs.sqlite for other website specific data (Site Preferences)
sessionstore.jsonlz4 for open tabs and pinned tabs (see also the sessionstore-backups folder)

My questions are: 1. Why is it "best is to avoid restoring a full profile folder"? 2. Is this the complete list of "important files that are safe to restore/transfer"? 2. In my profile folder, there are several files that start with the same file name, but then have different file extensions. For example: cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite.bak, cookies.sqlite-shm, cookies.sqlite-wal. Should I restore ALL these files, or just "cookies.sqlite"? 3. Is the correct procedure to copy the selected files from the "old" profile, and then paste them to the "new" profile, which presumably would overwrite files of the same name in the "new" profile? Thanks!

Been working with Last Pass support with this problem and it appears it is a Firefox problem not Last Pass. In the past when I closed my browser and then reopened it later, I had to enter my credentials to log into Last Pass, that all of sudden changed. Now when I open my browser, the credentials are automatically entered, exposing all of my credentials to someone who merely opens my browser. There are several items that lead to a Firefox problem: 1) I have Last Pass also on MS Edge, it acts correctly; 2) If I log out of Last Pass before closing Firefox, then when I reopen Firefox, I must enter my credentials to log into Last Pass. Firefox seems to be "remembering" the status of Last Pass when I close the browser, then reopen. We (myself and Last Pass support team) know all "boxes" that should be checked in Last Pass are and all that should not be checked are not. I even uninstalled Last Pass, no different. I went to uninstall Firefox, but was recommended to "Refresh" so I did, no help! Using Firefox ver. 149.0.2 (64 bit). I see this problem as a security issue, putting all of my credentials for all websites in jeopardy. At this time it seems my only solution is to change browsers to Edge or Chrome, however, I have been a Firefox fan since almost the beginning of Firefox and don't want to give it up--please help.
