  2. Dear Arabic l10ns,

I would be grateful if you could direct your attention to localizing the most popular of the Firefox OS articles. I will also ask the members of the global Arabic community for help in this respect.

    Cheers, Michał

  3. Hello Sumo and l10n ! New one around here, I'm part of the Firefox OS SUMO summer internship, and I surely will not stop working with the community even after the end of my internship. I already am knee-deep in translation, so we will talk later, hit me up on IRC or anywhere, always available for you !

  5. Hello, SUMO l10ns!

Thank you and congratulations for reaching the Firefox OS top 20 milestone! I updated the spreadsheet accordingly (and so can you, in the future).

Now, how about the top 20 articles, globally?

Let me know if you need help getting started.

    Cheers, Michał

  6. Hello !

Both the troubleshoot guide and the FAQ are localized, I updated the spreadsheet to include that.

  7. Hello, l10ns!

I would like to organize a one (or two) day long l10n sprint with you before the end of September.

I created a spreadsheet that is going to help us plan this together. I would love to see all of you take part.

What I need your help with is deciding the following:

Date & Time: at least a day and a maximum of two days (at least 6 hours per day) before the end of September. Weekends are OK as well.

I suggest you use http://doodle.com/ or a similar tool to decide on this.

Location: a single physical place that works best for everyone involved OR online. If you need to travel, we'll try to cover your costs, within reasonable limits.

Coordinators and Participants: once you know what date and place works for as many contributors as possible for your locale, please list them here and choose at least 2 coordinators that I can work with directly to organize the sprint.

It would be ideal if you could decide about all the above in the next 7 days.

If you have questions, let me know in this thread.

    Let's do this, l10ns!

  8. Hello Michal ! The sprint is being planned, but we have a question. Is this for the l10n team only or can the other Arabic translators participate too ?

The question in other way Is this invitation just for SUMO localizers or Arabic localizers in general to motivate them to participate in sumo?

    Hello, Synergy and Mohamed.

Everyone is invited! The invitation is meant for all current SUMO localizers, as well as anyone who has already localized with Mozilla, or would like to do so. We will organize sprint groups depending on the experience of participants.

I am happy to hear you're already planning something :-) Keep me informed!

    Cheers,

    Michał

  11. Hello everyone ! What are our plans for 2016 ? I think it's time for us to organize a proper sprint/SuMo workday. What do you all think ?

  12. +1000 to Synergy's post :-)

There is a hackathon for general l10n coming later this year (planned for October), but that's a long time from now and I think together we can make something great happen before that.

We almost had an event last year, but the enthusiasm sort of fizzled out. Can we pull it off this year?

  13. I'd very much would love to see that accomplished yes, i think we'd rather make it a bit smaller this year.

Let's see if having smaller, more regional meetups this year could work. The main L10n Hackathon should be happening in Doha, so let's try the other regions for SUMO before that?

  15. Arabic Mozilla as a whole is mainly formed of a few communities. Logistically, it's easier for each to organize a sprint at a national level. It'll end up cheaper and with a better chance to succeed than an international event. I'll send a mail.

  16. And done ! The first Tunisian SUMO L10n sprint is over:

    • 100% templates (although only 96% on the dashboard, a bug ?)
    • 70% of the global top 20
    • 36% of the global top 50
    • 41 articles done all in all in around 6 hours.
    • Plans to do more frequent localization sessions are being prepared. Maybe one in the start/middle of Q2 ?

    Stay tuned !
