Some emails with graphic links do not open the website in your browser. Instead, the cursor changes to a "zoom/unzoom" icon, and that's what it actually does, zooms and unzooms. I've found this with emails from different sources, both for .png and .jpg images. But those same emails when viewed in a web-based client, the graphic links work correctly as expected. What's up with Thunderbird? Platform: Win11 Home latest, Thunderbird 128.6.1esr (64-bit).

On both my Mac systems, Thunderbird was auto updated to 128.6.1, yet that download is not available anywhere on the Thunderbird sites. Was 128.6.1 released by error?

Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64 bit) can obtain access to my Google Calendar and Contacts but not to email. This is a clean installation on a brand new Windows 11 computer. I have reinstalled Thunderbird three times, deleted saved passwords, deleted only the SMTP and IMAP saved passwords (preserving OAuth2 passwords), deleted Thunderbird's access in Gmail security settings to force it to re-request access, followed every instruction on every forum and help page I can find, but Thunderbird refuses to send and receive mail. Thunderbird finds the correct configuration and sets it up (correct ports, IMAP, SMTP, correct servers, OAuth2, etc.) I used my Gmail address and the same password as I use for webmail.

I am presently using Outlook for Gmail because it connected immediately using the same credentials as I am trying with Thunderbird. When I delete access permission in Gmail security settings, then add Gmail to Thunderbird again, it prompts for access to Contacts and Calendar but not to mail (one time it flashed a screen saying it could not because Java is not enabled in my web browser--but Java is enabled on both my default browser, Edge, and on Chrome; the page that came up appears to be some internal browser in Thunderbird).

The attached images show the configurations for IMAP server, the SMTP server, and that the saved passwords contain two OAuth2 URLs, one for contacts and the other for the calendar, but nothing for mail.

I have been using Thunderbird for years, and have a massive archive of emails in it, would really like to use it as my email client rather than Outlook. Installation and configuration has never been this difficult. Does anybody have any thoughts on what to do next?

Problem: I installed thunderbird and added my employer's account. I used IMAP and ideally Exchange should be used. The problem is that I only have one folder. I have inbox, but I have no other folders.

Bug: From what I understand, this issue is known.

Question: Does anyone have any idea what time horizon it will take to use Exchange with Thunderbird?

I have reset my password several times both in the pop up dialog box in my mail account and in the "pass" box within settings. The password is correct as I am able to access my mail on the Comcast server via FireFox and also on my iPhone. Each time I reentered the password, I have rebooted the PC.

We had the same issue with my wife's account initially, but hers is now working!! Used the same method with hers.

Both were working fine this morning. To my knowledge I had not made any changes to Thunderbird.

I need help troubleshooting some inconsistent behavior with S/MIME.

Platform: Oracle Linux 7.9 Thunderbird Version: 128.6.1esr Smart Card: Identrust ECA Medium Assurance Token

Background: - Previously, I've used this card to sign and encrypt email. It is definitely associated with the email address I'm trying to use it for. - Thunderbird WILL let me use this smart card to decrypt emails that I previously sent to myself. Thunderbird reports that the emails were also signed (accurate), and that the CA/trust chain is valid. - OpenSC and PCSC are both installed and appear to be happy.

Inconsistent Behavior: - Thunderbird will not allow me to add my personal certificate (smart card) for S/MIME signing, or encryption. The certificate manager says it cannot find a certificate associated with my email address. Drafting a new email does not offer options to Sign, or Encrypt. - Device Manager shows that the smart card's status is 'Logged In' (pin was entered correctly) - Thunderbird is using the smart card to decrypt and validate the signature of emails I previously sent to myself. (When I try to open these emails WITHOUT my smart card inserted, I cannot decrypt these emails. If I try to open the emails before entering my pin, I get prompted to enter my pin.)

So I can decrypt emails with this card. Emails signed with this card are valid. Thunderbird can use this card for decryption, and reports no issue with the certificate->email address relationship. But when I try to add the card for signing and encrypting new emails, Thunderbird fails to find it, or fails to associate it with my email address.

I suspect that the error reported is inaccurate/unhelpful, but I don't know where to go from here.

Hello, first the version: Thunderbird 128.6.1 Windows 10. I have a Nextcloud account and manage my appointments and addresses there. From time to time I would like to send appointment invitations. I do this with the calendar module of Thunderbird. An ICS file is created and sent. When I send it to myself and try to open it, I get an error message saying “The import failed unexpectedly. More information in the error console”. I'm not sure whether the error comes from the appointment invitation or from a setting in Thunderbird, but the text created in the mail is ok. Unfortunately, I can't do anything with the information in the error console. I have attached a screenshot with the information in the error console and one with the email text.

I am currently utilizing Thunderbird and require assistance in incorporating a digital signing of the message into the signature of my email. Presently, the software attaches the signed text as a file, along with an additional file for my public key. I would like to know how to integrate these elements as text at the conclusion of my message in the signature, rather than having them appear as attachments.

I am using TB 128.6.1 esr (64 bit) on a Tuxedo-OS laptop that is up to date as far as the OS goes. However, I have had the same issue on earlier versions of TB over at least a year and on Ubuntu so I think this goes back and isn't OS specific. What happens is that I select an ics file to import (to my google account). The import starts but only ever imports the first event. If I then reopen the same file and deselect the first event then the next is imported and I can work through all them but this is a big time waster. The ics follows below. I hope someone can see a fix.

10 email address UNIFIED inbox 20 emails: 4 read and/or favorite and/or tagged and/or with attachment 16 NOT (the opposite)

Need to select all one which are not favorites - > they have to be archived

With Quick select there is a way to select all that has 1 or more attribute

BUT there is no way to select those which have NOT 1 or more attribute (the inverse)

The mails list can't be sorted to attribute values, attribute NEGATIVE values

Is there a way to do it?

If not: It might be quite insane logically not let the user to filter mails WITHOUT a certain attribute. There should be a button with the possibility to invert the list. Or something like that. Shift-click on quick selection buttons which negate a filter. ??? Filtering/searching means: not relevant, "relevant: Yes", "relevant: No". Today "relevant: No" is not implemented Email workflows (archiving, ...........) use NOT favorite, NOT tagged etc selections: I want to archive everything except those which are favorites, which are tagged etc.

Bonjour, Je possède Thunderbird depuis longtemps, avec 3 adresses SFR et 1 Orange tout a toujours bien fonctionné sauf ce matin tout a coup ,j ouvre Thunderbird je reçois tout les mails de chacune des boites... impeccable. En travaillant a coté, une fenêtre s' ouvre et me dis "Échec de la connexion depuis le serveur imap.sfr.fr avec le nom d’utilisateur denis.....@sfr.fr." Je re-rentre donc mon mot de passe ,pareil ! je vais sur sfr directement je vérifie tout le mot de passe fonctionne mais plus dans Thunderbird. Voila mon probleme. Je ne comprend pas.

Hi all, I'm trying to add my school's M365 account to thunderbird, but they use multi-factor authentication and have disabled SMPT as it's not secure enough, and I don't believe they have app passwords enabled. Is there any way for me to send emails from this address on thunderbird?

A specific email thread has disappeared from both my inbox and sent folders. I was in the process of writing a reply to the sender, my hand twitched (this happens from time to time) and I must have triggered TBird to glitch somehow. Next thing I know, the whole thread is gone. I can still access it by logging in to the organization's Outlook client directly.

I did a search for the email in TBird and the results indicate it can be found in both the Inbox and Sent folders (it's not), and it doesn't show up in the message list pane. I can access it by clicking on one of the search results, and I can reply to it from there. I have closed and restarted TBird with no change to this issue. This makes me wonder if my twitchy hand caused it to become "hidden" somehow.

Any ideas to help fix this would be appreciated!

I can drag and drop some existing email addresses from my address book into a new mailing group, but Firefox refuses to allow other email addresses to be dragged and dropped. It seems completely arbitrary as to which existing email accounts can be drag and dropped and which cannot. The online "HELP" instructions for this function are completely outdated, written for an earlier version of the software, and are no help at all. The whole process of creating a mailing group that has several (30-40 or more) existing email addresses in it is a giant task if one cannot drag and drop those into the group. It is as if whoever designed the mail group function did not expect anyone to set up anything but small groups. Please fix this function!! It's current usability is severely limited and a real pain to use.

Greetings My Thunderbird displays all of my emails in the top box. However, all of a sudden, even though the emails in the Inbox are displayed correctly in the top box, the content of the emails of 12/29/2008 thru 1/1/2025 are empty. They are empty both in the bottom box and when double-clicking the email. The emails prior to and following these dates display properly. The other folders seem to function properly. I recently hat some issues with one of my accounts. At first some random mails disappeared right after receiving them, which made me question my sanity. Last week, I was able to witness a mail being recieved, appearing in search results, disappearing in the client and disappearing the mail from the server about a minute later.

While I was still wondering about this and looking for solutions (I tried the "Repair Folder" last week), I found no apparent changes, until yesterday, when about 9 months worth of emails turned into thin air. (Not in the inbox, not in the trash, not in the archive or on the server). Fortunately our IT department has backups and could also confirm my suspicion that the deletion was issued from Thunderbird.

I think there is a severe bug somewhere, but at the current moment I don't have the smallest clues to write a useful bugreport. Where would you start collecting evidence for this?
