We have 1000 clients network and most of the clients having thunderbird installed (latest version) and configured , since last few months we started getting complaints that some of the local folders not showing their content mail in the system , we tried to repair folder does not work, we tried renaming .msf does not work.. when we see the some of the local folders mail they appear in the list but if you try to open it it opens blank and after trying troubleshooting steps thoes mails getting disappeared.. please assist..

Since an update 4-5 days ago, Comcast SMTP server does not accept login from Thunderbird. Comcast help page said it was updating and requires a more secure SSL security. Today the Pop3 server does not allow signin either.

How can I select a more secure encryption that will be compatible with comcast.

I some how lost or can not get into my email account On Thunderbird or xfinity using mdm54@comcast.net. I somehow messed up my computer and can not sign in say i need to follow and get permission from my primary which i have but can not sign in.Every time i try to sign in to any thing i get either noting or forget the passwords am truely upset and missing my mail please see what you can do if aything I have no idea what to do thanks

I asked bout this a couple of weeks ago but didn't get a response. Perhaps I asked under the wrong heading. I'm not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to these things. Over the holidays I prepared many emails to send afterwards. I created sub-folders in my drafts folder. I sent the emails OK, but then I couldn't delete the folders I created in the drafts folder. Not only that but the folder icons in Drafts turned from yellow to purple and they did that in all four of my email accounts, even though my storage of emails was all in one single account. When I right click on the folders I don't get the option to delete and the folders won't allow being dragged to trash. Also one of the folders suddenly disappeared with all of the prepared email in it. Can you help me correct this condition? Thanks.

Aloha, I have been using Thunderbird since decades. Since a few weeks (or even months) by now, it is hanging all the time. Meanwhile it is totally impossible to use it properly. Whenever I klick on something it hangs itself up and I have to wait at least a minute until I can click something else and then it hangs again.

I already tried reinstalling, but that didnt change anything. Of course I also rebooted the computer.

Why is that so and what can be done?

I've long blocked remote images in my Thunderbird messages, and I have pretty good spam filtering at both server and app level, but when spam gets through it's invariably of the "image only" type. That is, an image with the product/scam/junk text and stuff all within the graphic.

Even though I have the Reading & Display setting of "View attachments inline" NOT checked, and the Files & Attachment settings for content type of JPEG Image and PNG Image (and everything else) all set to "Always Ask" –  STILL the images are shown to me when I select the spam message for deletion.

I can't be the only one getting image-based spam, so I'm a bit surprised that I can't find a solution to simply not display image attachments. I do still want to see the original HTML (many emails are a mess in plaintext only), but is there no means to keep the formatting but simply not load & show images?

Again - this is not about REMOTE images, rather image attachments.

Okay, I have done everything to delete a gmail email account in the 128.6.1esr (64-bit) version of Thunderbird.

1 - In Account Settings = deleted the entire email account 2 - Deleted any association with calendar 3 - Had tech support person (my own) remote in, spend 1/2 hour and could not find what else needed to be deleted.

Here's the thing: I get a popup from google saying xxxx@gmail.com saying:

"Sign in to continue to Mozilla Thunderbird email"

Create Account ....... Next

Click on Next = 404 error (and Google says nothing can be done about it in so many words) Click on Create Account = "something went wrong"

Can someone help? This popup occurs about every 5 minutes and I cannot receive *or* send email while the popup is open. So annoying.

mein alter Rechner ist "gestorben", weshalb ich einen neuen brauchte. Vom alten Rechner hatte ich die drei Postfächer, mit denen ich "arbeite" gesichert und nun versucht, diese in der neuen thunderbird-Installation auf dem neuen Rechner einzuhängen, schrittweise, so wie in den FAQs zum Thema Import beschrieben.

Aber: Die alten Postfächer/Inhalte werden nicht angezeigt. Sie sind aber im Zielverzeichnis ".thunderbird" zu sehen und an der richtigen Stelle.

Ich bitte um Hilfestellung zur Problemlösung.

Thunderbird is set as my default email client on my desktop Windows 10 in the default apps and it's set in the Default Programs control panel but when I try to send a document on my desktop to mail recipient, a message comes up saying there is no email program associated to perform the requested action. It is set in Thunderbird as well as the default mail client. Cortana is no longer accessible on Windows 10 on my pc. Thunderbird is set as the email client in the registry settings, I have only a few Startup programs running on startup and cleared the cache in Thunderbird so I don't know what else to do to fix this?

Unable to open the summary file for [Gmail]/Sent Mail on myemail@gmail.com. Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long.

I am plagued with this error message on various accounts. The folders have opened before and it exists on the Gmail website application.

The SSD is fine with plenty of available space. Over twice needed by the system.

The profile folder is 65GB. Can Thunderbird handle that much data storage?

I have used Thunderbird for years to access one mail account on AOL. In November, it suddenly quit working. In my efforts to fix it, I wound up with 2 sets of inboxes. How do I combine them now that I've downloaded & installed Thunderbird, which upgraded my program and reset the AOL connection? All mail is now going into a newer inbox, but I want it in the older inbox?

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I've been archiving my e-mail on my Synology NAS for a number of years now. However, my W10 desktop computer died last year and I've had to reinstall Thunderbird on a new W11 PC. I want to get access to all the archived e-mails on my NAS, that is, as they used to appear in Thunderbird under local folders year-by-year. I also want to be able to archive more recent e-mails to the same location. That is, I want to re-establish the same archiving process I had previously, complete with access to the old archives. I've tried to set up the same file path to the NAS under Local Folders in Thunderbird (as far as I can remember - I might not have it correct) but the old archives don't appear. in an attempt to identify the correct file path on the NAS, I've tried to archive a recent message as a test so I can see where it is stored - in Thunderbird the year folder appears under the NAS location under local folders as expected and I can see the message in the message window so it seems to be working but I can't see any new folders or files on the NAS - nothing modified or created with today's date. I can no longer move emails to the folder of my choice. If I drag and drop an email into a folder it never goes there, sometimes it does nothing, sometimes the email disappears like it moved but it never ends up in the folder I drop it into, I search all the folders I have created and the email I moved is GONE! I look in the "Trash" bins I can find and the email is GONE!

Version 128.8.0esr (64-bit) I tried too update the version that is an exercise in confusion.


Side note, the only way to copy and paste the version number is using the keyboard, if you highlight the text in ABOUT, right click it does nothing! No popup window giving you the option to copy. First time in 30 years I have seen this problem.

Desktop PC running latest Thunderbird and Firefox. Started Thunderbird, instead of the usual tabs opening, it appears to have forgotten my accounts, asks for my email address, i.e. starting from scratch again. Starting Firefox, all previously-open tabs have gone, though bookmarks are all there.

Has there been some update which has wiped or reset Mozilla data? Yes, obviously I can go through setting up Thunderbird again but that will take quite some time and yes, I can use Firefox but many of the tabs I had open were there for a reason and it will take a while to find them all again.

Is there any way that the previous state can be recovered? My laptop has both applications running fine and I have paused Windows updates for a week, just in case the latest update caused this. Thank you.
