I recently moved to a new phone, Samsung S23+ after being on a OnePlus phone for several years. My new phone is much beefier but has been suffering from frequent crashes (it actually just crashed as I was typing this part.)

The crashes all seem to be variations of:

I've tried the beta version of Firefox android, I've tried with and without add-ons, I'm not sure what else to try.

Something that I noticed and thought might be related is that I had 4.7GB of background mobile data usage over the past month. I tried turning off background data usage, but it is still crashing.

Hello,

On Firefox for Android, I get "Proxy is refusing connection" error while attempting to connect to any site on the Internet. But I didn't configure any proxy connection for Firefox! Moreover, this error happens when I use my home Wi-Fi network, but browser works properly when using cellular data or any other Wi-Fi network. Also, browser works for some time if I start VPN (Psiphon in my case), stop Firefox through Android settings, clear cache and start the browser again.

Best regards, Peter

Firefox: optimizing and auto-restart of live video stream

I have Firefox (Beta) installed on a Samsung S8 Android, and its sole purpose in life is to display a live videostream (live TV program from https://canalcurta.tv.br/viai… (read more)

I have Firefox (Beta) installed on a Samsung S8 Android, and its sole purpose in life is to display a live videostream (live TV program from https://canalcurta.tv.br/viainternet ).

The problem is that the internet link in/from Brazil is "variable", meaning the live stream in Firefox will hang - sometimes for a few seconds, and sometimes "forever".

So I have two questions:

1) Is there a buffer setting for live streaming video. (It does not matter if the stream is 2 minutes late! ;) ) (I don't want to "load entire video before watching", I only want to have a very large buffer for live videos.)

2) Is there a way to make Firefox auto-restart a video stream which has hung more than 1 minute (or whatever)?

Thank you very much! Your help is much appreciated! <3

(This was originally posted in the Android section, but is general, I think.)

I'm running the latest Firefox for Android (v118.0) on a UniMax U676CL. Every time I try to download anything (image, file, video, etc), when it completes, the phone's mobile & data network connections are IMMEDIATELY DROPPED (eg. no bars, says 'no SIM card', etc), then around 15 seconds later, they return. Very strange. This has been happening for a few weeks (and a few FireFox updates), and until I recently discovered that Chrome (which I don't like) worked fine, I blamed the carrier / phone... which obviously isn't the case. ANY IDEAS?
