The last version of Firefox is making some connections I don't know how to stop. I've modified some of the parameter in "about:config", but there are still HTTP request to the following URLs that I didn't manage to stop:

https://firefox-settings-attachments.cdn.mozilla.net/security-state-staging/intermediates/* https://firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com/v1/buckets/monitor/collections/changes/records

Also, does anyone know if there is a configuration file where I can modify directly all of the parameters I changed in "about:config"?

Thanks!

Greetings Firefox Community,

I work from home as a warranty administrator for Mazda, Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen. They all seem to use either IE11 or Chrome as their online platform. When I use Firefox I can access all of the log in screens, however when I need to go to different pages Firefox does not allow me to go any further. I have no idea how to change the compatibility settings in Firefox. In IE11 I simply go to tools and then Comparability Settings and enter the page I need to access. In Chrome I can cross platform with no problem. I would rather stay with Firefox. Any suggestions will help.

Kind regards Gerry

Hi, I rarely use Firefox and on this PC I only access websites for work and have full antivirus since PC installation.

See attached screenshots...

Since few days ago Firefox suddenly started being slow and on some websites like www.3dcontentcentral.com (a 3D CAD website) when I type a search instead of providing results practically immediately as it did until a few days ago, the following happes:

1) it takes ages to get the results

2) in the bar at the bottom left of Firefox (where it shows what Firefox is doing in real time) it shows "transferring to...." and it scrolls through MANY different websites which have nothing to do with the website I am on (i.e. 3dcontentcentral.com), such websites includ Facebook and others with random characters. That does not happen with any other browser. AND I never accessed Facebook from this browser anyway and 3dcontentsentral.com has no reason to connect to Facebook or the other websites shown att he bottom.

That happens even if I run Firefox with ad-ons disabled. Only Adons I have are Duck-Duck and Ad-Block Plus

BTW, the only thing I have done was install duck-duck few days ago but the idea of duck duck. If anything that should have made the system more secure not less... :o

As mentioned I am always extremely careful to never click on any unknown or even remotely suspiscious website and aso have VPN and full business antivirus.

What is going on?

Thank you for all feedback :)

Firefox 81.0.1 (32-bit)

Everything was working fine until a couple of weeks ago.

Now whenever I go to a website which requires as login password it asks me for it every time whereas previously it just automatically logged me in.

Even more annoying is that the login boxes are already populated with old login details. However these are not for the most recent login details (username/password).

How do I fix this?

I had an issue with a self hosted website's self signed cert and the code it gave, it recommended I go to

Preferences > Privacy & Security > View Certificates > Authorities

and delete the offending trust. I couldn't find which trust it was I needed to delete, so I just deleted them all, assuming it would reverify valid ones later on, and the broken one would be fixed.

Now I can't access any website. Not even google.

How can I just reset all my SSL settings without resetting firefox entirely?

This is Firefox 82.0 (64-bit) for Apple Macintosh. No matter what I do, i cannot get Firefox browser to NOT STORE cookies, site data, and cache. I exit the browser, start the browser back up and cookies, site data, and cache are ALWAYS still there n matter what my privacy settings are. My expectation is that I want Firefox to AUTOMATICALLY ''''NEVER'''' STORE cookies, site data, and cache. I also want FireFox to AUTOMATICALLY ALWAYS START in private browsing mode.

What settings do I change in order to NEVER have cookies, site data, and cache ever stored and to always automatically start my browser session in Private mode?

The settings as displayed in my attachment do not work and have never worked.

Is there a solution to this?

Can someone who knows this subject better PLEASE advise whethere this is a legitimate update for Firefox and can they be trusted. Also IF that is the caes why does Firefox send me a "warning"???? Thanks for your help.

Once upon a time when trying to create a blank tab, I accidentally typed "about:blank/" and this command doesn't work if the backslash is there.

Now anytime I want to create a blank tab and I type "about:blank" it automatically includes the backslash.

Because this phrase/command doesn't show up in my search history, even after clearing all of my data, Firefox keeps "helpfully" popping that backslash into the field whenever I start to type the command.

How can I make Firefox forget I ever made this stupid typo?! (Would clearing "Site Preferences" and/or "Offline Web Site Data" work? I admit I haven't cleared those two things.)

Firefox's Clear Data control allows you to clear both Cookies AND the Cache. This makes perfect sense, since both of these things can be used to identify/track people.

But from what I can tell, if you enable the option Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed, this doesn't clear the Cache, only Cookies?

In fact, the only way to clear the Cache at restart is to dig deep into the Clear history when Firefox closes settings, which few people would know to look in.

So, correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this giving users a false sense of security? They think all the Cookies will be deleted when they open Firefox, but actually the Cache is still there, allowing them to be easily identified?

Personally, I'm less concerned about cookies because they are opt-in (here in the UK). But as for being tracked via the cache, we have no say in that, so that's what I'm more concerned about.
