Title.

I got a folder on my desktop called Old FireFox Data and I swapped it over my current profile and it nothing?

I just lost years and years of search history and bookmarks for no reason

I am close to tears

please help

i have no idea what to do

I've just reinstalled Windows and Firefox browser so how can I get back my Synchronized bookmarks??Are they all lost?Because I sing in and trying ot synch but nothing changes.Thank you.

I imported my bookmarks through an html backup but I dont see them on the bookmarks bar and when I sync my chrome browser data everything is all screwed up How can I import my chrome data minus bookmarks

Hello Ich habe ein Problem mit dem Ordner "Weitere Lesezeichen" Dieser Ordner gibt es mehrfach in meiner Bookmark-Struktur. Wenn ich ihn "Lesezeichen verwalten" gehe, sehe ich den Ordner "Weitere Lesezeichen" mehrfach. Wie kann ich das bereinigen? Grüsse Heinrichxx

reinstall book marks to tool bar from other book marks

Hi! I was prompted earlier today to update Windows 10 on my laptop, and now adding tags to Bookmarks isn't working correctly.

If I try to add tags to a bookmark, normally - I start typing the tag and if I already have tags starting with those letters a list would usually show of my existing tags that start with those letters - and I can choose which tag I want to use.

Since the update, what I get is a list of what tags are already on the tag-line for my bookmark! This is terrible.

I have a huge library of Bookmarks - most of which are extremely well-tagged.

When I start typing a tag name, I need the interface to act like it did previously - and show me what tags I have that start with those same letters.

My Firefox browser is on auto-update so it's up-to-date.

I hope this gets fixed very shortly because I really hate it! And I'm constantly adding new bookmarks and editing my old ones - so this is such an annoyance.

I hope my description is good enough because I can't get a screen-shot (as soon as I try to activate the screen-shot thing, clicking to do that makes my Edit Bookmark window disappear).

I do hope this gets sorted out soon! BTW, I'm usually very happy with the Bookmarks system :) ~Liz

Hi, firstly, I am not very technical so I will describe my issue as simply as I can. When I open my Application Menu (3 horizontal bars on the top right hand side of my screen, underneath the X) and click on the Bookmarks heading, there is a heading showing as Recent Bookmarks. This then lists bookmarks that I have used. As I do not want this list. How do I stop/get rid of this "Recent Bookmarks" heading &/or list. Thank you to anyone who can help (without a lot of jargon/computer speak).

Hi I have lost all my bookmarks. I bought a new device. On downloading Firefox the the bookmarks toolbar was Google's. Now Firefox on my other devices has the the Google bookmarks toolbar. Help please.

I was having a problem recently with blue screens of death so I had to factory reset my PC - but not before backing up my personal files to an external hard drive.

Upon re-downloading Firefox, my saved passwords have pulled through with my profile (thankfully) but my bookmarks have not.

Am I missing something or should they have pulled through too?

I've tried the obvious like "Manage Bookmarks -> Import & Backup" and also looking for the file manually in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\q6xxdvnd.default-release\bookmarkbackups

If anyone is able to help, it would be much appreciated

Please reply with a step by step solution. I've tried changing some of the Firefox settings. I just tried unchecking the "Bookmarks" box and Settings box in the Sync Setting, clicked Save (left disconnect alone), left the other choices checked, and am waiting to see if this worked. Firefox is set as my default browser in all the places I know. Thank you very much!!

If I click on a bookmark before my internet connection is established, I get page not found. Natural.

But if the connection establishes while on the error notice, the same bookmark gets the same unfound page. Refresh doesn't refresh. I have to go to another site or burn and start all over.

Same on Samsung Galaxy A34 and New Linux HP notebook.

Using windows 11 on a desktop PC. Firefox has been my default browser for decades...issues have been very rare. But this is a catastrophic problem. One of those folders contains links to equipment mfrs, the other one has links to dealers and retailers. In the last month TWO folders and all their contents have vanished from my bookmarks sidebar and cannot be found anywhere on my computer. I NEED those folders...Where did they go and how do I recover them ?????

Help to do that will be appreciated!

I can't recover my bookmarks. I've used both available sites and it still isn't working. "Unable to process the backup file." And when I try to recover the HTML using the converter, it says; "JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data".

I see this is a known bug but this bookmark sidebar has suddenly started to appear on my desktop when ever I open Firefox and there seems to be no understandable method to turn it off although there are several arcane techniques that require me to go to weird places and change the names of files. No indication of what the unintended consequences of that might be. Is this something you can fix? Will the next update. This is really frustrating. Help please. So to be sure, I do not consider the challenge of getting into the pants of a program to fix a bug to be fun, exciting, interesting, etc. This is a tool and my browser is acting up. That is a pain in the butt not an adventure.

I have saved a lot of shortcuts bookmark on my homepage,yesterday when i opened my firefox,it was all gone and it went back to default homepage. what do i do to recover it.

When I log into Tesco, it will not load and says, your browser(firefox) has failed security checks. I am using Norton 360 and run a full scan with no indications. All other apps and icons load using Firefox. Tesco refuses to. I have removed it and re-loaded it several time. I worked well untill yesterday when I did some routine windows updates.
