The browser was working normally, I was asked to update, the update more than doubled memory use. I tried to re-install, now it opens even more tabs, just to idle.

I'm trying to remove some old usernames from appearing in the dropdown box when clicking on it. Sites that use a username rather than an email (Steam for example).

I've searched and tried delete, shift+delete, function+shift+delete, etc., etc.

The usernames do not appear anywhere in the history, the saved passwords and logins, etc. I'm at a loss.

Not the end of the world if I can't remove them, it's just frustrating as heck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all,

First time posting here, I've been using Firefox for years with no problem but over the last year or so (I can't remember exactly when) firefox starting taking longer to open.

It's not taking forever, only like 6 seconds, but it used to be instantaneous, as every other program on this pc is and it's bugging me. The window opens immediately but it's all greyed out, nothing loads and the blue mouse wheel spins above it.....again, only for 6 seconds. Specs: i9-9900k @ 5Ghz 32GB RAM Windows 10

I've tried every step in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems this guide, no effect :-(

OS is Win7-x64, graphics Intel HD Graphics on Haswell pentium G3220 with latest available driver.

Since version 89.0 or 90.0 (not sure which) following webpage rendering issues appeared on my machine: - page loads ok, but when I scroll up/down with pageup/pagedown keys then some keystrokes are not followed by redraw, or redraw is partially blank (horizontally split - see attached screenshot). Subsequent keystrokes either have the same problem or are rendered correctly. - scrolling is only problematic with pageup/pagedown keys. Alternative methods (up/down keys, mousewheel, holding and dragging scrollbar or clicking above or beneath it) work ok. - I'm sure that version 89.0 or 88.0 didn't have this problem. Since then I haven't changed any about:config settings or updated graphics driver. Compositing was then and now set at WebRender (not WebRender (Software)). - I tried disabling hardware acceleration on version 92.0, but it hasn't solved issue, so I reverted this back.

Troubleshooting info is attached.

Thanks in advance for your help.

How do I change the timeout setting for connecting to a web server. I get the following message way too often: "The connection has timed out The server at xxx is taking too long to respond." This question is in the archives from 2015, but everything has changed and those about:config, search for "timeout" items aren't there anymore. I've tried a few there, but obviously not the right ones.

For several weeks now: When I click on a link in Google search it stalls out with a Google address and a blank window. A lot of web pages either show a blank window or don't load completely until I reload them. These things don't happen every time but far too often. The only firewall and anti-virus I use is Windows Defender.

Windows 10 with latest Firefox. Adguard Adblocker and standard enhanced tracking protection. T-Mobile Home Internet Normal download speeds over 140mbps and upload speeds of over 40.

The attached screenshot is what happened when I first came to support looking for help. The screenshot is taking a long time to upload.

When I go to disneyplus.com Firefox display a black window, no words or images, just a black screen. Clicking refresh produces the same black screen. Disneyplus loads fine on Chrome, ME, and even Firefox Nightly. Running Win10 Pro, 64-bit, all updates done. No issues with any other site. It used to work just fine. I've closed everything, restarted, checked for blockers and other settings. Firefox 92 (64-bit). I restored Firefox back to defaults and that didn't work.

Macbook Pro 15-inch, Late 2008 Firefox 78.14.0esr (64-bit) mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

Problem is manifesting when I try and use Wordpress websites. Some fail to load or take some time. When editing in the backend - same issues, and when using Elegant Themes DIVI Theme on page editing does not work. Cannot open settings for modules, hovers over editable areas not behaving.

Looked at Console and it is showing this error repeatedly. Also showing many other errors too with Chrome and various OS functions.

9/15/21 11:56:25.614 AM firefox[1063]: stat on /Users/admin/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/eq2ony84.default-1556047105747/weave/commands.json: No such file or directory

First, what is the error and can it be fixed.

Second, would it be having any effect on the issues described.

Struggling to get my work done. Thanks for your insights.

The issue occurs after viewing a YouTube video in full screen and returning to the subscription home page. The top of the home page no longer appears at the top, it's missing and the script is displayed to the left of the monitor screen where it's partially blocked. The glitch is present on all subscription sites recently visited, not an isolated case.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 Installed on ‎12/‎16/‎2019 OS build 19043.1237 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3740.0

GTX 1070 GPU 8Gb

This issue is also present on my Thinkpad running Firefox 92.0 64. Different graphics system.

First image shows the displaced content, the next image, after pressing F11 to resolve, is the correct content.

Tried the suggested fixes to no avail, last try was a Firefox re-install which didn't fix the issue. This glitch was not present before the most recent Firefox update.

The work around is to press F11 to restore the display to its proper order.

Thanks for any help.

I have Windows 11 IE with all available updates as of late. Chrome works like a charm. Faster than ever, actually. However, I missed Firefox and it has all my settings the way I like and doesn't have the annoying download feature than Chrome has where it leaves little files along with the download cluttered all over your desktop.

I have had Firefox deleted from my system for months now and have been using Chrome as my daily browser. I wanted to give Firefox a chance again, seeing as I have Windows 11 IE installed, and figuring that maybe there was a Windows 10 Pro bug that was causing the slowness within Firefox, but no, it is definitely Firefox. I even installed Firefox on my M1 Macbook Pro and immediately deleted it as it was using a TON of resources and slowing down my machine.

Can ANYONE please help me in finding out what is wrong with Firefox to make it so very slow in loading for the first time upon firing up my machine. It somewhat loads ok after it's been closed and loaded again a while later, but this waiting forever for it to load on startup is absolutely ridiculous.

For the record, I don't know how to use the about:help stuff, so if you are going to suggest something, then please be very specific as I have not really dabbled in that so know next to nothing about that feature. Appreciate it.

Hi! I use Firefox on Ubuntu 20.04.3. I tried to speed up video on Sharepoint. Right click -> speed -> 2.0 and nothing happend. When I right click -> speed again, I saw that speed still 1.0. Then I went to google, found that Sharepoint allow speed up videos only in HTML5 player. Then I knew that to do that in Firefox I should disable Hardware acceleration, so I did it, but it didn't help. OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco add-on is activate.

Then I decided that's Ubuntu. I install ubuntu-restricted-extras, ffmpeg packages (to support h.264 video), restarted, but again that didn't work.

youtube.com/html5 saying that everything fine.
