How do I actually get Firefox to start where I can browse something? I have downloaded it 3 times, and it downloads, and then it just sits there. How do I actually go to Firefox and search for something. I got a search bar ONE TIME, and when I put in the thing I was searching for, I got an immediate message that the system crashed and I should try again. How do I get an actual SEARCH BAR to come up and let me do something? Even now, it is sitting there, asking me to download it again. I don't see the point in constant downloading with no result. Firefox is REALLY IRRITATING to try and use.

My main browser is Google, with Gmail as my email. I have Windows 11 installed.

I currently have Firefox to open at startup showing three different websites. When I open a new window, the same three sites are open. I would prefer all new windows to open with one new tab only. I don't much care whether that new tab displays some sort of blank page or home page or a website I have chosen or whatever.

I can't find a setting or an extension which allows this. Can anyone help?

I am having a problem with Firefox losing or not updating some saved passwords. It has always worked seamlessly in the past, but in the past couple of weeks (January 2025), several sites that I regularly visit and have saved passwords for (nothing financial; I never save that stuff) have not auto-populated the password field and I have had to change passwords. I did this on one site a couple of days ago, using my mobile and tablet (both Firefox web browsers), but when I went to log in to that site on my desktop Firefox browser today, it had not updated the password, and even when I typed in the new password, Firefox did not offer - as it normally would - to update the saved password. I was logged in to Firefox at the time, so my account was live. Anyone else having this problem? Or know why it's happening?

On some websites that use radio buttons to navigate, I have found that either it returns with a blank line (such as thumbnails on Newspapers.com) or the site hangs (as I did when I tried to register online for two different transactions). In contrast, when I switch browsers, the sites work just fine.

Because I thought that restoring Firefox would solve the problem, I did just that; however, the problem persists.

What should I do now to make the sites work correctly?

Hello,

In some tabs, my address bar flickers. I have not observed any clear pattern as to why this happens, though I can say for certain that re-doing the browsing steps in a new tab will sometimes solve the issue.

Incredibly odd!

Note that I am on a portable version of Firefox provided by PortableApps Platform.

"Extension Manager is not functional. My troubles started when I did a "Check Disc", and cleaned up my C drive. Unfortunately, my extensions were also gone from the toolbar. I checked my "Ad-ons and themes", but they are all there. Next I tried pinning them, but that didn't work, but in further analyzing, I got a yellow warning, something to-the effect that installing too many shortcuts, could cause problems. Rats; searching found nothing to even hint of fixing that yellow notification. Woe is me; seems I create another problem with no fix. The Extension Manager" panel only shows "Duckduckgo". I then uninstalled an extension by clicking on "Remove" Sure enough, it was no longer listed on the "Ad-ons ...." panel. I installed a fresh copy; but though it now shows up in the "Ad-ons ...." screen, the "Extension manager" still only shows the extension "Duckduckgo". I tried deleting another extension and re-installing it, but "Extension Manager" still is not functioning.

I then tried to restore to an earlier time, but there are no restore points. Thank you, "Check Disk". Restoring via "Profile" sounds intriguing, but if whatever changes I made via "Check Disk" are permanent, then I will have spent a lot of time laboriously hand copying preferences and whatever, and at 88 years young, my time remaining above ground, is finite, and is valuable to me.

Has anyone come across this weird problem? P.S. I did spend extensive time in the "Firefox Help" pages, but there is nothing in re this weird anomaly. Short of throwing this computer out of the window, does any one have any ideas other than re-installing FF, which I am wont to to do for reasons enumerate above? Whew! Pardon me for this long dissertation, but my nerves are starting to wear thin, and thanks so much for reading this interminable essay. Best regards, Nick M.

I accidentally performed a key combination on my keyboard which distorted the webpage I was on at the moment (LinkedIn>MyNetwork); This doesn't happen to my other LinkedIn pages/links. This issue happens only in the Firefox browser, not in other browsers. I've tried reinstalling Firefox, clearing all cache, as well as using firefox on a different computer, and also using InPrivate window. This specific webpage has been "repositioned" to the far-left side of my browser window as if in its own pane (about 2-inches wide, including the vertical navigation bar). This specific webpage's 'sections' have been cut to fit part of their sections into this 2-inch wide pane, in other words, I can see only the left-most text/icons in each section. The content fonts and spacing have NOT been reduced in size. See attached screenshots of the two examples (one in Firefox, one in Brave). I don't know what I did on my keyboard to cause this, it was a complete accident. Please assist.
