Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I set up profiles on my work computer and I have sync set up but when I access firefox on my personal computer I don't have the profiles. Is there a way to sync my profiles as well so I can access them wherever I log into Firefox?

FF dev 155.0b5 (but this has been ongoing for 1+yr). W11p. Is there somewhere in settings where I can "disable" whatever is blocking videos from being seen? (for example BBC news videos). I have to go to troubleshoot mode to watch. I have previously disabled all potential blocking exts like ghostery & UBlock, but to no effect (still no videos). I have looked in security in settings. Otherwise, I either go to troubleshoot or open chrome. Or, is there an extension that will allow that video viewing? Please advise, thank you.

I'm writing a home-grown email client (Python email module, yay!), and I've received an email with a couple of images with Content-ID: fields. Sure enough, the HTML bears corresponding URLS with cid: schema. The instructions for changing country in built in VPN do not work as after clicking on icon it states open VPN and nothing happens to open it. I am trying to set France as my country.

This is Firefox on a brandnew Fedora installation. Using Jupyter notebooks on Google Colab, I experience delays when typing into input fields. It's not quite a deal-breaker, but annoyingly sluggish. On a Chromium-based browser, Vivaldi, I don't notice this problem.

My hope is there is a certain overlap of the demographics using Colab, Firefox and Fedora. I wonder if there is a known problem in this area? Is there a configuration settings you can suggest?

Help please, cannot open Firefox browser for Windows 10 Pro anymore, clicking icon advises my profile is missing. How to fix ? Ive also spotted a number of folders properties are showing the target as an A:\Users path rather than the expected C:\Users but the path is 'greyed out' and cannot be edited, help much appreciated

usually when i click my keyboard's knob thing, it will pause and unpause whatever media is playing. but recently it's stopped doing that. it will work for anywhere between 2 mintues to 30 minutes, but eventually it stops. the only way to make it work again is to refresh the page or start a new page. the troubleshooting steps i've taken is: -close other media software (spotify, other tabs etc) -gone to abouy:config and typed in mediakey to check it works. also turned it off and on for good measure -turned off xbox gamebar -turned my pc off and on again. none of those worked i also thought it might be autoplay being turned off, but it didnt do anything. please help. thank you

When watching videos on youtube, I hold down the space bar to make it go at 2x speed, this makes the video and the audio de sync the more I hold the space bar, It's been happening for quite some time and I can't seem to find an answer as of why this happens or how to fix it.

This has happened on two different video sites already. While watching a video, it will go extremely dark and happens randomly. I also get a weird blank window frame sporadically. I've unjustly been reporting this to one of the video sites until I noticed the same thing on Youtube.
