Hi!

I am getting messages that I am blocking ads for many of my internet requests. I had never received these before but all of a sudden I started to get them. I have tried a number of things but nothing works.

I am running Windows 11 and do not have any Ad blockers.

Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

When I first open Firefox I have noticed the past few days that if I try to click on anything on the menu bar right away I get a not responding error message and I have to end up shutting the program down. If I wait a few minutes the menu bar does work normally.

I sometimes have an issue: when I try to pay for a product or service, I end up in an error page and the only way to continue is by using another browser. I think that the problem is that my browser blocks pop-up windows. Which of the extensions does that? How can I get myself out of the need to use other browsers?

Hey , I’m hoping someone here can help me figure this out. Firefox has been acting weird for the past couple days. A couple of my tabs keep reloading themselves for no reason. I didn’t change any settings, no extensions were added, and there are no error messages. I already tried clearing the cache and restarting, but it’s still happening.

Download not adding a number to like files when saving. For instance (mycardexp.doc if I download the same named file tomorrow mycardexp.doc it use to add a number like mycardexp(1).doc FF has stopped adding the number showing that multiple files by the same name exist and how many.

Is there a way to hide bookmark names? I have several bookmarks that I keep in the bookmarks toolbar, and I can keep more links there only if I were able to hide bookmark names. I know what the link icon goes to, I just want the space without having to reduce the names of the bookmarks to a few letters. It would be even better if the name I set the bookmark to would appear when the mouse hovers over the link icon.

I cannot find a date associated with the history entry, I can search and the site link is shown but not date. I can sort by date but no dates are shown. Where is the date I visited the site?

Two step verification is set up on all my email accounts via webmail - Verizon/AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo. I never set it up, and when I go in to the mail applications' prefererences it's turned off. But when I try to sign into any of my webmail sites it insists on sending me a code and I have to go back to Thunderbird and open the emails containing the verification code. I specifically go to web mail because spam folders aren't available in Thunderbird and I need access to the spam so I can turn it in to Spamcop. (Mac desktop, OS 15.7.1)

bold text Mozilla updated my browser which I didn't request and I lost all my bookmarks. I have a Mozilla Recovery Key. Howe do I use it and will it bring back my saved bookmarks?

Why are the minimize, maximize and restore buttons not visible?

Sometimes these buttons on the browser window appear, and sometimes all three buttons are not visible. Never had this problem until recent Firefox updates somehow affected this. I cannot tell which update was unaffected since, but this is an ongoing problem and the browser window is blank with no buttons on the top right hand corner. The only solution is to use the file menu and select exit from the list. I may have to open and close Firefox several times until the button icons are visible again. See example screenshots.

P.S. I'm using a 32" monitor if this helps.

I continue to receive this message when I open the browser. Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message

I have attempted to correct this with the various workarounds to no avail.

Anyone who can help with this?

Any suggestions for Firefox being really slow? Slow loading webpages. This has been going on for about a month. Maybe longer. I have the same issue in Troubleshoooting mode. Firefox is updated. Cleared cache and cookies. Rebooted. On a Mac laptop.

I keep using Safari and I'm about to more over permanently.

certain web sites are not available on my PC via firefox browser. Have to switch to Edge to access. Have had this happen a number of times for different websites but was amazed that couldn't access social security admin (ssa.gov). Received this error message:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

I downloaded capital one shopping add-on. But I never established a user name or password anywhere. If I need to do this before using it, please tell me exactly where and how to do this! (All of this stuff confuses me.)
