I seem to be encountering various problems since the update to 73, the main one is the profile folder, I dislike the default location so have previously just put my preferred location in appdata\roaming\mozila\profiles.ini but 73 regularly ignores this and puts a basic profile in the default location and alters profile.ini. Using the profile manager does not get any better results. I am also having problems with the home page, I have set a custom page but 73 often resets this to a blank page or sometimes the default home page. I have had to resort to a 'portable' version as 73 constantly resetting things was getting so annoying but the portable does not work well as a default browser.

Good evening,

In a specific website (sepenet.gr) i can preview forms that i can directly print just by clicking the printer icon on the form (up right corner in the photo No1). In other browsers (internet explorer, microsoft edge and google chrome) when I click on the printer icon on the form automatically opens a new window that asks me to choose the printer and the other print settings (photo No2). In mozilla firefox I get a message that in english says (more or less) "Form is being receiving. Please wait..." (photo No3) but nothing else happens. After a five hours searching and trying to solve, I gave up and decided to ask your help! Please help me!!!!!

Recently the strava web site login page started using up all the RAM (8GB in total, typically 3-4GB free) on my MAC (OS Mojave) when using Firefox (78.0.2 (64-bit).

FirefoxCP Web Content is the app using up the RAM/Resources.

I suspect this is due to all the trackers strava.com is running and I have firefox setup with 'Enhanced Tracking Protection: Always On'

Blocking Cookies - Cross site and media trackers tracking content - in all windows cryptominers fingerprinters

I always run the Facebook Container.

Note, this problem started about 10-12 days ago, before the garmin ransomware (fwiw).

Note, I don't have any issues with the strava.com/login page consuming resources when using Chrome with Privacy Badger and Adblock Plus.

This is just an FYI - since unsure if it is just a 'my machine' issue. Not ready to test in Firefox without all the enhanced protection yet...

Firefox makes connection to 'locprod1-elb-eu-west-1.prod.mozaws.net' on every start of the browser. After trying to figure out if its caused by one of my addons I tried Safe mode and found out addons ware not the reason but after using Safe mode the browser started making connection and to d2nxq2uap88usk.cloudfront.net on every start too. The only info I have found for 'locprod.prod.mozaws.net' is that its related to geo.enabled but mine is set to False and for d2nxq2uap88usk.cloudfront.net the only thing for it is in block list for SpotifyAdBlock. I have already tried everything on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-making-automatic-connections .

Why does make Firefox makes those connections? What is transmitted? And How can I disable them?

When playing mulaw wave files on Firefox, I get a lot of static, much more than I do on Chrome.

You can test this here: https://www.tavoca.com/audiotest/index.html You can download the original wave file here: https://www.tavoca.com/audiotest/mulaw.wav

I tried using Firefox 78 and 76 on Windows 10 and on Linux Mint 19.3

I use the default theme, no extensions, only the basic plugins: OpenH264 from Cisco and Widevine Content Decryption Module from Google.

Is this a known issue? Is there already a ticket for it, and if not, how can I create one?

Thanks,

Laurian

So it is as simple as the title of the post. I cannot access Reddit through Firefox.

I don't get a message saying "Unable to connect" or "Cannot access that website." All I see is a blank screen. I have no problem accessing any other website (I've gone through every bookmark I have) and I can access Reddit using Edge (the only other browser I have installed).

I've already tried disabling all my addons, clearing my cache, cookies and data, and changing the network settings in the options of Firefox to No Proxy and to the other DNS option. Nothing works. All I see is a blank screen.

I am at a loss here as it feels like Firefox is preventing me from accessing this one website but isn't giving a reason why.

Edit: Solved

https://firefox-storage-test.glitch.me/

Using the above test I was able to determine that nearly everything was full broken. Only local storage was functioning. After doing a reset on Firefox, everything is working again.

When I open a new window (private or not) from taskbar right-click menu on firefox icon it opens but the window is inactive (when I try to write text or press a hotkey it just doesn't work until I click on the newly opened window and do it again). For me it looks like the active window is "taskbar" but I'm pretty sure it's a problem with firefox because I've never seen this happening to other apps. Maybe there is a hidden option or something that I have to enable?

I deleted a Firefox profile while troubleshooting a selenium/geckodriver issue. Doing so deleted many unrelated folders and files, but long story short my Python folder was obliterated but for a single file called vcruntime140_1.dll. It also rendered Firefox unusable.

I reinstalled Firefox with no success. I tried the refresh option from the installer instead — no success. I deleted everything I could find in regedit and my C: drive (no clue why several folders are left behind after uninstalling...). Re-install still failed: during all attempts I could open a Firefox window but I couldn't do anything within.

On a hunch I went into my recycling bin and restored the vcruntime140_1.dll that I had deleted, and Firefox started working again. I moved it from my Python folder (cause surely it doesn't belong there, apparently it's a Microsoft file) and Firefox stopped working...

I want to know where this .dll actually belongs, and if possible I would like to know a way to obliterate Firefox from my PC. Uninstalling should accomplish that, but sadly does not. Any other advice/commentary is welcome.

Hi,

I have come across this answer as to why youtube page gets randomly updated: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1246764#question-reply

After checking all my settings, I couldn't find any add on or extension containing "high-definition" words in it. My only extention in firefox is ublock origin.

Any idea why the updates continue to take place? Can ublock origin cause it? Or has there been a browser update that could cause it?

Many thanks in advance,

I realize this may be trivial, but I like it when things work the way they're supposed to. The Google calendar favicon has a number in it that is supposed to be today's date. It is never correct. The calendar itself is correct, but not the favicon. See attached screenshot. Today is the 28th, which the calendar correctly says, but the favicon says '14.' I tried it in Chrome, and it works correctly. So, there may be something FF (78) or one of my add-ons that is blocking that information. How do I track it down and correct it?
