Sorry, I wasn't sure which topic this question fell under. I created my Firefox account in 2017 and have forgotten my Password. However, since creating my account in 2017, I've NEVER SIGNED OUT. Until I hopefully remember my password, I don't plan too.

Question - If I am signed into my Firefox account, as I have been since 2017, and get to a point (when updating or changing my settings, add-ons, etc) where it asks me to re-enter my Password, is there a set number of password sign in attempts before it locks me out? And, if it locks me out after so many incorrect attempts, does it also sign me out of Firefox as well OR do I stay signed in? Hopefully I explained my question.

I really don't want to lose my data with Password reset, so I'm trying find ways help me recall my correct Password. Thanks for any info. Kurt

Fairly regularly I go to the Quora.com site to answer questions others have asked. Perhaps in one in four times I launch Firefox browser and go to this site it will not respond beyond the first page and eventually report that something on the page is slowing the browser. If this does not happen, everything works normally and very quickly.

The only way I can continue is to close the browser completely and relaunch. Even if I wait a minute or so, when I relaunch it tells me Firefox is already running and asks if I wish to close it. If I let it close the browser, the new launch normally works perfectly.

When the problem occurs, opening other tabs and closing the original one does not seem to make a difference. It still does not work properly.

I am not sure when this started, and I have only experienced this problem on this one site. When I have tried using the Chrome browser I have not seen this happening on this site. I don't like the Chrome browser but have it installed to allow streaming my screen to a Chromecast dongle.

The Firefox browser in the Windows 64-bit version 92.0.

This start happening a few weeks ago (it is now mid September 2021). I am not sure whether something has changed in Firefox or in the Quora site. I have seen this problem on both my Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 10 Pro PCs.

I'm using Firefox version 92.0 (64 bit) on an HP 350 G1 notebook running Windows 10.

It seemed that it was after the 92.0 (64 bit) update that I cannot open bookmarks that are PDFs. The correct URL is present, but nothing loads, it's just a blank black page. I have tried turning off the add-ons and refreshing the page, closing and reopening Firefox with the add-ons manually turned off, restarting Firefox with the add-ons disabled, and restarting in safe mode. All of the attempts were performed without any positive results.

I can copy the URL on Firefox and paste it in Edge, and it opens the correct page. I installed Chrome against my better judgment and pasted the URL, and the correct page opens again. I can copy the URL in either Edge or Chrome, paste it on Firefox, and the same results occur as if I clicked on the link in my bookmarks on Firefox. I can click on the bookmark from either the home page or a page that's already opened, and nothing happens. The URL doesn't change on the existing page, and on the home page, "Search with DuckDuckGo or enter address" in the UL space does not change to the URL that I'm trying to open. Is there something I'm missing?

I only ever use Edge when I'm having an issue with Firefox, (usually it's when I'm trying to log on to an account or something and I can't, then I realize that it may be one of my add-ons preventing it. I then disable them one by one until I'm able to achieve what I want.

I don't want to have to switch back and forth between Firefox and Edge just to view three PDFs, so if someone knows what could be the resolution to this, I would appreciate it greatly.

As a freelance translator, my clients often assign me work through online translation software interfaces like Wordfast and MemoQWeb. I've never had trouble using these services before. Since the update on September 7, I've been unable to work normally in MemoQWeb. When I open up a file and start translating, the workspace repeatedly reloads (every few minutes) as if I'd just opened the file. Every time this happens, it boots me back up to the first segment in the file and loses any unconfirmed input I'd been in the process of typing into the open segment at the moment of reloading. I don't have this problem in Edge (I checked), but Edge is my emergency fallback browser and isn't set up with useful translation add-ons like my Firefox account. This is slowing down my workflow a lot, and I would deeply appreciate help getting it resolved. <3

I use the 'Edit/Find in Page' (Cntl + F) to look for something on a web page and, once I find it, I turn if by re-entering Cntl + F. This no longer works the same on my FireFox. Cntl + F still turns on the search bar. But I can't find anything to turn it off. I have tried 'Cntl + F', 'Edit/Find in Page', and there is no 'x' to close the bar. How do I close the Find bar?

I use on Ubuntu Linux (90.0.02). When you do a "find' on a page (ctrl-F) the bar appears at the bottom of the screen and you enter the text and search. But then, if you want to get rid of it, the "X" is all the way over to the right and there is no way to scroll the screen to get over to it. I have to move the whole Firefox browser way over to the left, and then resize the window really wide to the right in order to get to that "X". Shouldn't there be a better way to do that? Thanks

The Find bar used to have an X at the far left that I could click to close it. It no longer does. I looked up if there's a hotkey to close it, and it's supposed to be Esc, which is doing nothing.

The bar also appears to have the search box and option tickboxes all grayed out indicating unusable; they're not actually unusable, it's just the appearance that's wrong, but it shouldn't look like that.

Hi, it's been a while since I used Firefox and I don't seem to have a way of getting back into Sync with my primary e-mail address since I can't find my backup code. Who do I contact to either get my account deleted so I can start again, or get an account reset option set to my e-mail address? Ultimately none of my devices are logged in, and I cannot find my backup code.

The impression I have so far is that you have to sign in with another e-mail account (which is what I have done now), but this is not the e-mail account I want to use. Any help would very appreciated, thanks

Hello.

I've been both a long-term Google Docs and Firefox user; I use Google Docs every day. For two days now, however, I have been having issues with the spacing within words. It looks like there is an extra space between the letter M while other letters tend to look pushed closer together. Thinking that I accidentally hit the space bar twice I tried to delete it, but instead it deleted the entire letter. I checked the rest of my Documents and had to realize that almost all of them are affected.

Firefox tells me it's up to date (Version 92; when I click on Help → About Firefox it tells me there are no new updates) as is my operating system (Windows 10). I deleted every browser extension I had, cleared the cache and cookies in Firefox, and restarted my laptop, but this didn't fix the spacing issue portrayed in the images below. The line spacing has been at 1.15 and the Document has been aligned left before and after this happened, so I've ruled that out as causes as well. Changing the font to another and back did not help either.

This issue does not appear in browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Chrome.

I reached out to the Google Docs support community (link to the thread here) thinking it was an issue with the website itself. The people giving advice in this thread suggested that Firefox is having rendering issues since it only occurs in (my) Firefox browser and that I contact a Firefox forum, so here I am.

If anyone has advice on how I could fix this or who else I should contact, I'd be more than happy to hear it!

When I use control-F to search in a page, a ribbon appears at the bottom of the page with a search bar and associated controls. Somewhere on that bar, there should be an "X" to dismiss the search. It's not there anymore. (See screenshot.) The only way I've found to dismiss the search is to put the cursor in the search bar and press the ESC key. That's a bother. This must be a new bug, right?

Hi guys. I have Windows PC machine running for several years now. No new program updates or installs recently, no restarts. And then yesterday, suddenly Firefox started to crash all youtube tabs. Not even videos itself, but also www.youtube.com crashes. Any idea how could i find out, what the hell is going on? Microsoft edge is working fine with youtube. I have tried troubleshoot mode, same. Windows 10.

What can possibly cause this? Thank you.

When I open a PDF that contains charts and graphs, the document displays all text on all pages correctly except I do not see the charts and graphs. Instead of charts and other graphics, I see a greyed-out box with no information whatever. I have double checked all Adobe PDF settings and PDFs do display correctly, and in full, with Chrome and Edge.

I want to stick with FF. How do I fix this? System is Win 10 Pro and always updated. Many thanks
