I am subscribed to a mailing list from Wordsmith.org, and I get an email with a different word each day.
See today's example below:
iteroparous
PRONUNCIATION:
(IT-uh-ro-PAR-uhs)
MEANING:
adjective: Reproducing multiple times in one’s lifetime.
The email has a link to an mp3 audio file with a voice recording of the proper pronunciation.
Today's word: https://wordsmith.org/words/iteroparous.mp3
The file omits the first part and says "____perous".
It is not just this one instance, it is all the time, every day.
Chrome also has the same fault, but Microsoft's Edge plays the mp3 completely, as it should.
