I have been using Thunderbird for well over a decade and LOVE it! I do not know when this occurred and how but I have two Sent folders, one is called 'Sent' and the other is called 'Sent Messages.' Actual sent messages go to the 'Sent' folder but as both are protected folders, I cannot delete the 'Sent Messages' folder and would very much like to. Can you please tell me how to accomplish this?

Lists it's category as "Stability" when the release notes page say it's for testing here - https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/131.0.1/releasenotes/

Hopefully something can be adjusted or fixed as I don't believe the 131.0.1 should be in the "Stability" category on the first link/json data.

With Sequoia released - the "Writing Tools" invoking Apple's AI are available in most apps now via the context menu (e.g. select a paragraph/block of text and right-click and the context menu or menu bar shows the menu entry "Writing Tools" wherein you can get the Apple AI ecosystem to rewrite, proofread etc - however this is not available yet in Thunderbird 128.4.2 when composing/editing an email.

I appreciate this is a North American facility at present and you have to fully enable US English on your Mac and then enable "Apple Intelligence" in system settings...but once you have done this, the facility is available in most apps unless the API chosen doesn't support it.

Any thoughts if / when Thunderbird might get updated to use the API to invoke or enable this?

If I can think of the one writing app where I spend most of my time, it's eMail.....while it's true I can select a paragraph and pop it over to Notes via copy-paste, invoke the AI there and paste it back - that's not as convenient.

I am 80 years old, and ot a computer genius. This morning after loading up normally, tabs kept crashing on firefox. I the got a notice to restart for a windows update. After the restart Firefox disappeared, and I had to reload it, but I lost all my previous settings.

I recently started and even though we have changed the name to mine in all the settings, the last lady that worked here name is in the correspondents every time I email anyone. I cant find it when I look at everything, but there it is when I email. How do I get rid of it?

My Websocket server recently started failing in Firefox. After some investigation it looks like the issues began in v130. The Websocker server works in all other browsers and in Firefox version <= 129. After much troubleshooting it seems like a change was made to the TLS negotiation when making a Websocket connection. I was able to temporarily solve the problem by forcing TLSv1.2 instead of negotiating the strongest TLS available. Was there a recent change to how TLS is negotiated when making a wss Websocket connection?

SMTP settings for MYFAIRPOINT.NET (Server Name, Port, Security, Authentication). I have now spent 5 hours and cannot get Thunderbird to send a message through Myfairpoint.net. It used to work for years with no problem. My inbox with IMAP is working just fine.

Hi, I have thunderbird on my other laptop and working just fine. I got a new laptop today and am trying to set up thunderbird. It started a few days ago it seems like every time I stop and restart Thunderbird and new Trash "folder" is created. I have Trash with the garbage can Icon, then Trash-1, Trash-2, Trash-3, Trash-4, Trash-5, Trash-6, Trash.msf-1.compact-backup and Trash.msf.compact-backup they all a preceded with a folder icon. the list keeps going.. whats up?

TB was working great until ten days to two weeks ago. Now it constantly crashes, crash reports fail to send, can't open emails, reply or forward, nothing works and then it crashes again. I have had complete virus scans, malware scans, threat scans done and none are detected. What happened? I love TB but it no longer works.

I have been trying to change an account to use a different login and server for retrieving mail. But, it keeps logging into the old server.

In Account Settings, for that account, the Server Name: is set to the new server and the User Name: is set to the login on the new server.

I have restarted Thunderbird multiple times.

Any help is appreciated.
