I cannot attach any image or file to Thunderbird emails using the attachment function. I get a message that says "Thunderbird has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" then I get "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I had this happen before many years ago, and it was related to the file folder I was using to get the attachment. when I used a 'higher' directory, the problem disappeared.

However, I have used the current folder before and it was fine until yesterday. I am using Windows 8 and tried disabling both Windows Defender and Windows Firewall. It didn't make any difference. Can I change the file directory the attachment app looks in automatically (in this case it's the last one I used)? I can't find any setting for this.

It's obviously a security glitch with the attachment function, because I can manually move images into the email body, but this won't work with files that are not graphics (such as pdf). Thanks.

I understand the newest version of Firefox offers support for WebP images, which is cool and great... but not when I need to download those images for use on my computer. As an artist I need to be able to save things as .jpg or .png for my art programs (or even preview) to be able to open them. Is there any way to make this an option, or to not default to webp when saving images?

I've also tried changing the extension on the file using the "all files" option but it just corrupts the file and won't open them.

Typing in new email addresses is autocorrected incorrectly

With the newest version of TB (68.10.0), when I type in a new email address in the form of: Name <name@domain.com> I end up with an email of: "name@"@domain.… (read more)

With the newest version of TB (68.10.0), when I type in a new email address in the form of:

   Name <name@domain.com>

I end up with an email of:

   "name@"@domain.com

I have done this multiple times. I finally had to just put the email in directly (not inside <>).

I would like to use it but Chrome works flawlessly but don't block ads.

I also just the the Firefox Lite Beta in the Google App store.

Is there a more stable version of Firefox Lite that I can install on my phone?

The last e-mail I was able to download to my Thunderbird desktop e-mail client was on 7/7/2020 at 1140 EDT. I am using an ACER M3970 with Windows 10 Home. The aforementioned e-mail would normally have been moved by Thunderbird to the "Trash" folder, but I suspect the process was somehow interrupted. Consequently, whenever I open the application, or it is open already and checking for new mail, it simply downloads the same message over and over again. Is the application corrupted? Do I have to reinstall the whole thing or simply create a fresh profile? My husband has his own profile, which is functioning properly. Thanks in advance for any help.

Today I installed the new Firefox 74 but now my multirow bookmarks toolbar is not working correct anymore. They are not side by side, they are now among one another. See attached screen, ca. 75% of the screen is used by the bookmarks.

The following code is contained in my userChrome.css file:

At the top of my home page I consistently get spams to download Edge. My Firefox browser is up to date version 78.0.2. I should be able to keep my home page safe from constant spamming. I have searched numerous ways to control what I view & come empty handed. It appears Mozilla & Microsoft are in cahoots. I managed to block it with AdBlock but the update removed my block. Why do you even allow this? Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Yes, as soon as i bring the cursor to the Search box. the drop down box appears.

I opened my Home page and all of the boxes under Firefox Home Content I had unclicked during set up.

My home page is set to blank page and New Tabs the same.

I turned them back on to do as you described but the three dots never appeared in the corner and everything remained the same so i turned them off again.

I changed the password on my att.net e-mail account and Thunderbird no longer logs into it. "Mail server inbound.att.net responded: Server error - Please try again later." I'm using inbound.att.net and port 995, SSL and normal password authentication. I tried creating an ATT "secure password key" to no avail. I tried IMAP instead of POP3 - doesn't work.

I allowed Thunderbird to upgrade to a new version first thing this morning (Windows 10) without considering the consequences. It had me enter a new profile. I keep pop my email from Gmail and keep my local account and local folders on a network share.

I got it pointed to my Local Folders just fine, but not my Inbox and Trash. Couldn't figure out how to point the account, then I realized that I just didn't scroll Server Settings. Oops. I pointed my email account Local directory at the folder on the share drive (neglecting to make a copy first, darn it), which is what I normally do when I install Thunderbird on a new computer or whatever. Unfortunately, the 200Mb inbox did not get incorporated like I had hoped, and I don't see any trash in there. Would have liked to keep both but at least the inbox data does still seem to be there. And, there is a backup, so I can still reinstall with the right process and recoup everything.

I installed the ImportExportToolNG add on, but it does not see the inbox, which does not have an extension anymore, as a directory. I just get a single email (subject only) if I try to import it as a file. It looks like there are still .msf files being used but I'm not sure what Thunderbird did to my share folder.

Is there a way to get the old account level emails from inbox and trash into the new account? Can I give the now "File" inbox file an extension that will help the import tool interpret it, so I can at least get it into a Local Folders folder?

Is there a way I can reinstall the old Thunderbird, so I can point it to yesterday's backed up folder and be up and running again without losing so much important information?

I feel like that would be the best strategy, if possible. I'm a bit frustrated here. Now it's downloading a bunch of crap from Gmail, like nothing I would want to keep, I don't think. I thought for a sec it was going to be my missing inbox, but no.

PROBLEM: Earlier today my email was working just fine; I did not make any changes, but all of a sudden, the displayed list of emails does not show the subjects. Only some folders are affected.

WHAT I TRIED:

  • I clicked to show the "Select columns to display" box on both the affected and unaffected folders; neither includes "subject" as a choice.
  • I could not find anything applicable to this problem on your Help website.
  • I made sure my version of Thunderbird is up-to-date.

I am sending two images, one of a folder that still shows the subject, and one of a folder that does not.

The only other things that looks a bit unusual to me are two columns that I don't remember seeing previously, one before the "Correspondents" column on both folders - it looks like two closely placed dots, and has single dots entered into the list - and on one of the folders, a strange symbol before the "Date" column. Apparently these have something to do with sorting. The only reason I mention these is in case they remind you of something that might be helpful - I'm perfectly happy ignoring them.

Please help me get my subject column back. Thank you.

When I try to create a subfolder nothing happens after I'm done initiating the request.

Also my little "thinking" circle in the upper left  is circling non stop now. It seems that all other functions are OK. Could this be because of the recent update?
