whats "please enter master PW for the soft ware security device"
now most of the time when I try to Google? off foxfire on home page (fill in the blank rectangular box on the center of the page) I get, "please enter master PW for the soft ware security device." So I have to X it out to get past it. This is annoying & a waste of time. How can I get rid of it ? I don't remember signing up for sync, as I have very good security devices as programs so don't see the need.

That is about logging on to the software security device to access the Password Manager.
It sounds that you have set a Master Password and have stored a password from this website in the Firefox Password Manager.
- Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
When Firefox detects an input form on a web page and you have saved a name/password then You will be prompted the enter the MP.
