Set up a passcode and Touch ID in Firefox

For added security, Firefox works with Apple's Touch ID to let you manage your passwords with your fingerprint or passcode.

  1. Tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen. (You might need to scroll all the way to the top of the page for the menu button to appear).

Tap the Settings icon in the menu panel at the bottom of the screen. (You might need to swipe to the next panel first.)

Don't see a menu button? You might be on an older version of Firefox. Please update to the latest version through the App Store.

  2. Scroll down to Privacy and tap Touch ID & Passcode.
  3. Tap Turn Passcode On.
  4. Enter a four-digit passcode of your choice.
  5. Optional: To use your fingerprint to access your saved logins instead of having to enter a passcode, tap the switch next to Use Touch ID to turn it on.

  6. The switch will turn orange switchonios when it's activated.
