Firefox created a folder "Old Firefox data" on my desktop which is impossible to delete. I am getting an error "Access denied" even when trying to delete it as administrator. How can I delete this folder?

New user of the Mozilla VPN for MacOS 26 (soon to be 27). I have two questions: 1) how can I exclude a website from the VPN? The Roku website, accessed via Safari, does not work with the VPN installed and enabled. The only instructions that I have been able to find use a Firefox extension that only works on Windows. 2) When I turn off the VPN, or quit it, I lose internet access. I have to uninstall the VPN client (I use AppCleaner) to effectively disable it and maintain internet access. How can I temporarily disable or quite the VPN and maintain internet access? Thanks !!

After a recent update my bookmarks toolbar appears blank. It is shown, but empty. When I go to the bookmarks menu I find all of the bookmarks shown as being on my bookmarks toolbar. How do I get them back where they belong?

After months of successfully using Word on the web through my Microsoft Basic subscription, I can no longer access it from Firefox. My practice has been to keep current documents on my Firefox desktop and until now I have opened them in Word by simply clicking on their icons.

Now when I click on a document, I get a menu asking which software I want to use to open it. The list of available software does not include Word, nor any other word processing software. All my document icons are visible on the desktop, but not accessible.

As a workaround, a Microsoft technician suggested that I use Edge to go to my account on the Microsoft website and open my documents from there. That works but I prefer to use Firefox as my default desktop and have never configured Edge. Why has Firefox changed its settings?

Great Firefox community—I’m at my wit's end with my bookmarks. When I save a website or video to the toolbar, it only shows me an icon and text (like "YouTube"). I have over 70 music videos saved—for heaven's sake, I can't remember which is which. When I'm looking for a specific song, I have to click on every single one because I can't see anything other than the icon and the text.

Could you make it possible to save or add a video thumbnail? It would be much easier for me to find things if I could see the image from the video. It doesn't need to be an animated video—that would take up too much storage space. Just displaying the image from the video or song would be really helpful. Alternatively, you could tweak the bookmarks so you can see more than just text and an icon.

I have been working with Sofia at Mozilla. She told me I needed to contact Firefox for help regarding inability to login. However, this is as far as I got, Mozilla Support. When Mozilla first made their entry into the world, I remember an email stating that we didn't need to create a new login or password. Up until 2-3 weeks ago, I have been using the same login name (email address) and password. For the past week or so, I haven't been able to login into Firefox.com or accounts.firefox.com or anything with the word Firefox in the URL. Each time I attempt to login to Firefox Browser a page appears telling me to download Firefox, which I have done. I now have at least 20 profiles. Why can't I login to the Firefox Browser? PLEASE HELP ME with understandable languague. I'm able to get to this page, and I know you are going to tell me I need to go to Firefox Help. Okay, how do I do that? AND remember, I am unable to open Firefox Browser.

so i use tab groups extensively, for example I'm a freelancer working for many clients on many projects per client, so I open a group per project and have windows with stacks of groups and then just dip into the stack as needed for whatever I'm working on that moment.

Usually I'm good about closing firefox down so it remembers my tab groups the next time I boot (my mac OS Tahoe). However I was trouble shooting a piece of hardware that required me restarting the mac many times in a row and once it was all done about 6 restarts later, my windows with stacks of tabs were gone. Firefox had remebered some groups, but lost 70% of my tab groups, which is just a huge waste of time, I'm never going to go back and re-open tabs from months ago i.e. I can't remeber what i was browsing for which is why I save tab groups duh, so I just need this to be more robust.

Please write a big fat file of every group somewhere and make it recall the damn list on next boot, or 20 boots later. The only way it should delete a group is if I manually decide I don't need it any more and purge it from my library.

Just having the history is super useless, I'm not gonna waste more than 10 seconds looking at the thousands of tabs in my history trying to recreate my groups, just no way, I have to move fast I'm always on deadline.

i have setup mozilla blue star and saved into other bookmarks the ffox tab docs that ai worked on with gemini ai. now when i try and open the docs from the other book marks they will not open. what has gone wrong and can i get a copy and save these docs? i can see the tags and google links but cannot open etc. i am desperate as it has taken a few weeks to get this information together. On my Windows 10 PC, Firefox has started bringing up the message "The page isn’t redirecting properly" when I click on BBC Sounds. It connects to every other part of the BBC website (bbc.co.uk) but not to Sounds. I've tried emptying cookies and the cache, but it makes no difference. MS Edge is opening Sounds OK, but I prefer to use Firefox. Please can you tell me what else I can do to get over this problem?

I need to bookmark a previously bookmarked site in a different folder and retain the original where it was. I use a temporary folder for bookmarks, then save them later to related folders. A "duplicate" warning is no problem as long as it keeps the existing bookmark where it was purposly saved. In short, let me have duplicate bookmarks for the same site! Seems to me that older Firefox versions allowed this.
