gary h me, I wonder if this dialogue box is appearing due to the setting "Require device sign in to fill and manage passwords" being enabled?

See this article for more information. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-password-authentification-prompt

Thanks for trying but that box was not checked.. additionally the pop up does not allow continuing with a pin.. Another unfortunate thing is I'm basically a dinosaur an struggle with issues like this. So thanks again!

gary h me, if this only happens with that one site and not with any other sites that Firefox has stored passwords for, then this might be a security measure that the site itself is initiating, rather than Firefox.

If no-one else has another suggestion, then I would consider consulting the site's help pages, or contacting their support. Sorry that I couldn't be more help.

You have to look around their page for other options — if they think you have created a security key with them they're either making wrong assumptions, or are sending all users to the same process without asking for the options first. But in general you'd want to get in touch with them to assist you with the recovery steps.

This is too overwhelming for me, I think I'll jut do a master reset. My desktop is still functional so it should sync over. Thanks for trying to help!
