I hope you're doing well.

I noticed that in Thunderbird, my Yahoo account has both a Bulk and a Junk Spam folder. My Yahoo account online and in the app only shows one Spam folder for all such messages.

How can I ensure that I only have a single Spam folder, as is normal? I want to keep mail organization as simple as possible.

I had to reinstall Thunderbird after doing a clean install of Windows 11.

Since installing, the expected login popup for Gmail doesn't appear. I get the attached error message instead.

Yahoo worked fine after a few tries. What is the problem here, and how can I fix it?

I have attempted to use the GMX import feature but have encountered some issues. I received an error saying 'The Local Directory path C:\\Users\\RER-KU\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\q2hrwh2q.default\Mail\Local Folders" is not suitable for message storage. Please choose another directory.'

I cannot receive any emails, and also received the error 'Sending of password for user 'rerlaroberts@att.net' did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: Server error - Please try again later.'

I have had the same issue for 3 days now with no luck.

Today TB froze during start up. No problems yesterday.

I deleted global-messages-db.sqlite and restarted TB. Now it is frozen with a "Loading messages". Maybe it is rebuilding indexes and this takes a long time and I should be patient.

Maybe my In and Sent mail boxes are too big? If so, how can I safely prune them?

TB is becoming increasingly unstable for me. It was very reliable before about a month ago.

I doubt my AV is the culprit because AV has not changed today.

Is there a user manual somewhere? If not, it appears many of us would need one.

Please let us know where to find it or, if there isn't one yet, please create it.

I've read that I can create several Thunderbird profiles and load my desired Profile to startup and use the Profile Manager to switch profiles. I'm guessing that I can only load one profile into Thunderbird at a time (?).

And if I wanted to check emails from another profile I'd have to close or switch or somehow unload the current profile(?).

It would seem to me if it were possible to load more than one profile at a time, then if two profiles had the exact same mailbox account, it would cause problems(?).

Appreciate any input from those with experience in this.

I have been using Thunderbird for my email for more than 15 years. About once ever few years a corrupted email file prevents me from downloading any more email. In the past I was able to use ftp to list email files on the pop server, find the corrupted file and delete it restoring my ability to download again.. It happened again on Oct 2 but I can no longer use ftp to access the files to fix the problem. IT appears that yahoo has fixed that problem in their email software but Thunderbird does not contain that fix. The bad file is somewhere in the first 4 to 10 files on Oct 2. It follows a file from American cruise lines.in my adrienne205@yahoo.com account using Thunderbird. I now have over 900 email files I cannot download using Thunderbird but can see those files using yahoo email software. Please fix Thunderbird.

Here we go again,I was unable to send email from my yahoo,ca account. I managed to get a password form yahoo and when I re-logged in, all my folders have disappeared. They are still on the webmail version on yahoo.ca, I can now send email though How can I get them back as the folder that the email has: C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\a51cb43e.default-release\ImapMail\imap.mail.yahoo-4.com Does not work

Using Thunderbird 115.18.0esr Supernova 64-bit on Mac laptop OS 10.13.6. Worked fine for years, with ongoing Thunderbird updates, even though Mac OS is 32-bit. Suddenly, after 10/6/26 can't retrieve emails although I can see them on the ATT Yahoo server website. Can still send emails with Thunderbird. Inbound server settings are: POP server inbound.att.net, Port 995, SSL/TLS, Normal Password (I long ago created a Secure Mail Key, and even tried creating a new one). But inbound server name doesn't show in Saved Passwords (only outbound server with Secure Mail Key as password)? I have tried everything suggested, repaired my inbox folder, updated Thunderbird files, etc. in Profile as recommended. But still no prompt for password when attempting to get messages. Just shows "Done" at bottom left with no new messages received. But new messages are seen on server website. So it appears that Thunderbird isn't able to connect to the ATT Yahoo server to get emails. Why? And what else can I do? I love Thunderbird and want to continue using it.

Has anyone here used Aryson for this purpose? How was your experience with the conversion quality, attachment preservation, and overall performance? I have multiple email accounts on Thunderbird (on MX Linux)... att.net, gmail.com and aol.com

While traveling without my computer, i had to reset my aol password on my iphone.

Now that I'm back at my desk, and being unable to find how to change the aol password on Thunderbird, I deleted the AOL imap account and have tried much of today to add a new AOL account.

In the past, I could create an 'app password' within AOL (browser) and use that password in Thunderbird... but that is no longer working.

Any guidance/suggestions?

I am running the latest Thunderbird version 140.17.0esr (64-bit) available in my MX Linux.

I'm running Thunderbird Version: 153.4.0esr Build-ID: 20260929234349 (more details at the end). Lsat update was on Oct.. 2nd. These days I observed a behavior of the quick filter, which i had not observed before: When I enable the quickfilter, but all filter options off (!) , some mails are hidden. One of the mails is unread. When I activate the option to show only unread mails, It still gets not displayed. The message only reappears when I disable quick filter again. I have cleared the start-cache, I have started in troubleshooting mode, I have deleted the global index and let thunderbird rebuiold it from scratch. No matter what I did, the error persisted. Even entering a search word i.e. Atomstrom to find the message, it did not show up.

Attached are two screen shots. one with quickfilter off, the other with quickfilter on. The Mails with the red box on screenshot with quickfilter off are missing, when quick filter is activated.

Is it a bug or a user-error?
