I have been an Outlook user fro more than 20 years Now gmail will not accept my 'Less secure App" anymore!

I have Thunderbird configured the way I like And I like how it works, Thank you

However I miss a very useful shortcut I used with Outlook in the past

I could highlight files, and use the "Send to" "Mail Recipient" Shortcut... To opened a New Email, and attach the files to an automatically, with a list of the files in the Subject Line Saved a lot of steps (time)!

The trick was accomplished using the attached script

Please tell me if anyone has created something to have the same feature using Thunderbird

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.aol.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again. I have tried over and over and get this same message.

Thunderbird has worked great for me for years, up until a few days ago. Currently running 137.0.2 and am encountering two problems. I have several emails and this has not been a problem in the past.

Now, I start TB and all works fine for minutes or an hour or two and then some inboxes start to display "No message found". If I close TB and restart it all is good, but noit for long.

The other issue which pops up is

"The folder '[Gmail]/All Mail on XXXXXX@gmail.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again."

I have over 200GB free on the drive.

PS Win 10 Pro, so maybe time for me to upgrade to Win 11 which I plan to do in the few weeks anyway.

I have two issues the first is a donation I tried to place on your website and am having trouble. The second issue is I had Best Buy remove malware from my laptop after they loaded everything back now I cannot get my outbound smtp server send email, it asks me for my password which it never did before and when I enter it, it says the Send mail failed and renter the PW and it still rejects it, My IMAP settings is mail.twc.com port 993 Security SSL My smtp server for Spectrum is mail.twc.com port 587 Security SSL How do I find the settings on your Thunderbird client to check the settings and password. All incoming mail is okay

I've got account created with a spelling error, and received some emails to that account. I've used Thunderbird and stored all emails locally - went to INBOX file and saw various emails content there. Then I've got another account created, and I want to import those emails received by the erroneous account into Thunderbird, so I would see them next to emails received by the corrected account. How I can do that? Some simple file copying of ImapMail doesn't seem to work.

I cannot get the "compose message" get closed. With every message the popup "Sending message" never closes. But the message is being send.

TB version 128.9.2esr, says Thunderbird is up to date.

I can receive emails, but can not send emails. I get this message "outgoing server stmp.mail.yahoo.com may be unavailable or refusing stmp connection" I just started getting this message..

I have been using Thunderbird with Gmail from Windows 11 for some time without a problem. Suddenly I can no longer send emails although I can receive them. I using the following settings:

Incoming: imap.gmail.com port 993 Security SSL/TLS Authentication OAuth2 Outgoing: smtp.gmail.com port 465 Security SSL/TLS Authentication OAuth2

I've also checked my gmail account 'Connections to Third Party Apps' and Thunderbird is there with all the appropriate allowances set.

sally@myaddress.com is no longer an active address but I receive Sally's emails at jane@myaddress.com, per my setup with Office 365. I am trying to recover Sally's emails from Thunderbird but it won't work. It asks me for Office verification, but sally@myaddress.com isn't the Office account.

Is there a work around?

I don't know why, but Thunderbird disappeared from my computer, at least a couple of years ago.

Sorry, but I still can't fix this. When I click an email, a semi-blank web page "opens", but not the full complete page that I am seeking, as in the past. What opens is a page with a few underlined words or sentences and I have to click on one of these to then get to the full web page that I want. Help! Thanks, Jim

My email address is hosted on my business website. That means that the name of the email and the name of the domain she not the same. Thunderbird sends emails but doesn't load them. What can I do?

Hi there, My email has started to delete all attached documents in a string where I am part of a group circulating and editing documents -which it has not done until recently. Is there an easy fix for this?

I am using the Unified Folders view. When I receive a new message in my Inbox, the account with the inbox corresponding to that message turns blue (as expected). If I then mark the message as read, the corresponding account stays marked blue unless I click the arrow next to it. Once I click the arrow next to it to expand the folder list, it immediately goes back to white. I don't understand why this is. Shouldn't the account go to white once the message is marked as read?

I'm getting random incoming message alerts (sound), when there is NO new message/s. The "Show an alert" popup is disabled therefore only sound and app icon settings are enabled. These settings have been thus for a very long time.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

How can this error be resolved. I have tried what little I could find here and online. Uninstalled and reinstalled and checked settings. Nothing seems to work so far. Using Win 10 on laptop. Worked fine and then just stopped sending and I was not aware at first until I finally saw the error.
