Familiar functions have disappeared (I find this disturbing) in particular being able to see address books when entering an email in order to select contacts. I have over 30 address books (the indexed Nickname field having been removed, I have been faithful to Thunderbird this long). How do I SAFELY get these functions back or something functionally equivalent?

Hello,

To get back the missing functionality in Firefox and regain access to address books when entering an email, you can try the following steps:

Check for updates: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Firefox by going to the Firefox menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner, selecting "Help," and then "About Firefox." If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.

Reset Firefox settings: Sometimes, resetting Firefox can resolve issues and restore default functionality. To do this, click on the Firefox menu, select "Help," and then "Troubleshooting Information." In the Troubleshooting Information page, find the "Reset Firefox" button and click on it. Follow the instructions to reset Firefox.

Disable extensions: Certain extensions or add-ons may interfere with the functionality of Firefox. Try disabling all extensions temporarily to see if the missing features return. You can do this by clicking on the Firefox menu, selecting "Add-ons," and then navigating to the "Extensions" tab. Disable all the extensions and restart Firefox.
