History does not accumulate since I "chose a profile"
Last week I went through the process of choosing a profile so I would not be faced with choosing whenever firefox opened. ( I was guided through the process by some of you elders.) My bookmarks are all in place but that history no longer accumulates, not even during the session I am in. I must have hit something without knowing it. I have gone up and down settings on several levels, but I can't figure out what will make this work again. It is helpful to have this reference so I would appreciate help. Gratefully, Marjorie Kinsey

Just looked at history before I closed down and there were the afternoons mozilla sites. I closed, opened up again and there were all the sites. I guess I now have to member to clear history every once in a while. I hope that this finishes this problem. Gratefully, Marjorie

Make sure Firefox isn't set to run in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" - remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
Thank you for illuminating these possibilities so I knew some places to check. I was not set up for permanent private browsing. ( I use private browsing every few months to check my late husband's university email account for any real messages.) I unchecked one thing which was to clear history when firefox closes. Since history did not seem to accumulate while firefox was open, I don't think this is the clue but I'll experiment.
