I'm not sure why, but starting a couple of days ago Firefox will not load a couple (there may be others) of my regularly used sites - the page just 'hangs' or only partially loads:

facebook.com theguardian.com

These are on my Windows 11 PC which I use 95% of the time. They load fine on my Windows 10 laptop which has the identical Firefox settings (they are Synced) with the same Extensions.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox on my PC to see if this helps, but the issue remains.

The websites load fine using Chrome on my PC.

Can anyone offer any thoughts as to why this is happeneing and offer any solutions?

To answer my own question should it help others.

It was the newly introduced 'Web Guard' in Avast that was blocking the sites. Having turned this off all seems to be working.
