Hello,

I dislike the Group Tabs feature. So many times I've accidentally created a Group Tab and then had to figure out how to un-group them.

I've tried to change the value of the "browser.tabs.groups.enabled" preference to false, but it doesn't stick; after restarting, the value is always back to "true".

What’s up with this?

Thanks, Andre’a

Hi Agent Virtuel,

Thanks for your reply. It's very helpful and worked right away!

I didn't know about "about:studies". It's interesting to see all my "studies".

Thanks again! - Andre'a

Hello again,

Removing Group Tabs from "about:studies" only worked for a short time. I've tried removing any study that mentions "group" and nothing works. I've made sure to restart the browser so that's not the problem.

Any more ideas??

- Andre'a

Hello

For information purposes https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/help-shape-the-future-of-tab-groups-in-firefox/m-p/95970/highlight/true#M37458 with Firefox 138.0.3, the preference, browser.tabs.groups.enabled is true, by default.

For information purposes. 1 - Go to Configuration Editor for Firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-config-editor-firefox 2 - Enter a search term browser.tabs.groups.enabled

Hi again Agent Virtuel,

I was mistaken. I didn't even try to disable Group Tabs via "about:config" since I'd read somewhere that only the items listed in bold face were able to be reset. Apparently I misunderstood.

After reading the links you provided I decided to give "about:config" another try. It worked!

Hopefully the disabling of group tabs will stick this time.

Thanks again for all you do! - Andre'a
