Spell check not working properly on outlook.live.com
Since April 5th I have lost spell check in the message pane of the emails I type on outlook.live.com It still works in the subject line, but not the message area.
Windows 10 pro 22H2 updated to end of March, when spell check was still working well. Firefox 137.1 English Canada Language selected (has worked well for years)
I go to outlook.live.com to read and answer my @hotmail.com emails.
When right clicking on a misspelled word in the message area I get only these options, Firefox does not give me the usual options.
I am currently having other problems on that site, clearing outlook.live.com cookies does not clear the problems.

Not seeing the issue. see screenshot Do you have the same issue with Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf
Edition Windows 11 Pro for Workstations Version 24H2 Installed on 20-Apr-24 OS build 26120.961 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.8.0
It is exactly the same in troubleshoot mode. I'm wondering if this is a problem caused by outlook.live.com as they have been blocking me from sending the weekly newsletters the last week saying all the recipients refused to accept them as they are spam. I've been sending these newsletters for years and this problem has happened a few times, it was always found to be a microsoft server error in the past that was blocking all those email addresses. A second email with less links in it was sent successfully to the same recipients without a problem today!
Am trying to do an online chat with a MS representative to go over this and see if it is indeed a server error on their part. Very annoying.
My system gets shutdown every night and all the malware scans are clean, this is only happening on that one website.
1. Check Firefox Language Settings Make sure that your language settings in Firefox are correctly configured:
1. Open Firefox and click on the three horizontal lines (menu) in the upper right corner. 2. Select Options (or Preferences on macOS). 3. Scroll down to the Language section. 4. Ensure that "English (Canada)" is listed. If not, you can add it by clicking on Choose and selecting it.
2. Check Spell Check Settings Ensure that spell check is enabled in Firefox:
1. In the same Options menu, scroll down to the Language section. 2. Make sure that the option for "Check your spelling as you type" is checked.
3. Disable Add-ons Sometimes, browser extensions can interfere with spell check functionality. Try disabling any add-ons or extensions temporarily:
1. Click on the menu button and select Add-ons. 2. Disable any extensions you have installed, especially those related to text editing or spell checking. 3. Restart Firefox and check if the spell check works in Outlook.
4. Clear Cache and Cookies Since you mentioned clearing cookies, ensure you also clear the cache:
1. Click on the menu button and go to Options. 2. Under Privacy & Security, scroll down to Cookies and Site Data. 3. Click on Clear Data and check both options (Cookies and Cached Web Content), then click Clear.
5. Test in Safe Mode You can run Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists:
1. Click on the menu button, go to Help, and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled. 2. Test the spell check in Outlook while in Safe Mode.
6. Update Firefox Make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox:
1. Click on the menu button and select Help. 2. Click on About Firefox. Firefox will check for updates and download them automatically.
7. Try a Different Profile If the issue persists, you can try creating a new Firefox profile to see if the problem is related to your current profile:
1. Type about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter. 2. Click on Create a New Profile and follow the prompts. 3. Launch the new profile and check if the spell check works in Outlook.
8. Check for Windows Updates Since you mentioned that your Windows 10 is updated, ensure that there are no pending updates that might affect system functionality. 9. Use a Different Browser Temporarily As a temporary workaround, you might consider using a different browser (like Chrome or Edge) to access Outlook until the issue is resolved.
Thank you both for the suggestions.
I have already checked all my Firefox settings and they are as they should be. Also tried troubleshoot mode. It is happening in Chrome too so I doubt this is a Firefox problem. Funny that it started just after the update to 137.0 though. Anyway at this point I'm pretty certain that it is an outlook.live.com issue. I had an online chat that I waited over an hour for with one of their reps who I am almost certain is only AI and he gave me steps to follow.

After I repeatedly told him that a. I do not have an outlook.com account, he said it would work if I tried hard enough! b. I get booted off outlook.com as soon as I have signed into my Microsoft account there and sent to outlook.live.com where there is nothing to click on to get support for hotmail.com email accounts. The only help they offer is for phone app users
Microsoft is so F'd these days - far too many things called outlook and they are all a little different in how they work
Guess It's time to dump my hotmail/microsoft account and go with another provider with an email website that actually works.
You should have Windows Sandbox enabled for testing. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

do you mean to use sandbox to test Firefox?
The only place online I have problems with is outlook.live.com
