If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin), always make sure such extensions do not block content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like blocked content.

I'm not a computer geek first off. Some of these recommendations were dead ends.once there I couldn't find anything of use. Themes set to default? Nothing there regarding rest or set to default. Once in awhile I'll get the this after the log in screen

Access your accounts online We can’t locate that page right now. This could be because the system returned an unexpected error or is temporarily unable to process your request. Please try again later.

Visit your bank's homepage directly and go to the login page from there.

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

It didn't work, cleared cache, even initiated refresh and all I get is this "Internal Server Error".

Does it work in a New Private Window?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be careful. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.

I tried those recommendations, nothing worked. This problem started after the later of the two latest updates. Prior to that I had no issue.

Does it work with the ESR version (115)?

It worked perfectly before the last two updates. I'm currently running version 115.9. There's no way for me to know what the version was back then.

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works, you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Boot the computer into Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

Before I attempt to go through all of the above let it be known that I can access my banking account using Google Chrome. It's a pain in the rear end but I can access it that way. I can also perform a system restore. This happened a while ago and that's what I did. I reported the problem, after several updates I attempted to try an update. The new Firefox update took care of the problem. I'm not a computer geek so figuring out what files are corrupt is impossible, let alone performing that task.
