Firefox is opening new tabs when closing one with the middle mouse button
Everytime i am closing a tab with the middle mouse button firefox is opening a random amount of new (empty) tabs.
Why?

Rights To Close {web link} Right double-click anywhere on web page to close current tab.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
