After I downloaded firefox I cannot access internet explorer
It says: a problem with web page caused internet explorer to stop working. When I try to download IE11 it says it did not finish installing because a more recent version is on your computer.

So Firefox works on that PC, but IE doesn't?
This isn't a support forum for IE, but venturing a guess - that message says a newer version is installed - like maybe IE 12?? Why try to download IE11 - why not try to reinstall IE 12?
Firefox and IE are nearly completely separate, so installing Firefox shouldn't stop IE from working.
Unfortunately, though, some people create bundles of Firefox with various junk and advertise on search engines above Mozilla's official site. In case you got one of those, please check the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, and click the "Installed on" column heading to bring recent additions to the top and see whether anything unknown snuck in.
Go to Microsoft.com, search for the Internet Explorer. Download the new version, remove the current, then run the installer.
