Some web features does not work (buttons, drop down menus, etc)
I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my machine, and ever since I've had problems with firefox. I had the exact same setup and firefox config before the reinstall as far as I can remember, and I didn't had the problem then. I've tried both the current release and beta version of firefox.
Basically, on certain websites, there are some things that doesn't work as they should. Certain buttons does nothing, some drop down menu's does nothing, image resizing doesn't work etc. Maybe it has something to do with javascript? Although most javascripts seems to work.
Here's an example: On this site: http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ The blue "Reset" and "Calculate" buttons doesn't work. The mouseover effect works, but when I click them, absolutely nothing happens.
Chosen solution
Rather a general answer I am afraid, as I can not see an obvious problem & solution:
- Note for any one off problems with sites it is always worth clearing cookies for that site and cache How to clear the Firefox cache &Clear cookies and site data in Firefox
- Try in safemode (see Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode) that is accessible from your Firefox Button. (but at this stage do not yet try the reset)
- next try in safemode and also disable the java plugin that you have (Safe mode disables extensions not plugins)
- for info: note Java and Javascript are different animals: http://kb.mozillazine.org/JavaScript_is_not_Java
- if the above do not help then try the Firefox reset, but be aware you will loose open tabs, extensions, and certain preferences, you may need to bookmark things first so you can find them again see Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Thanks for the answer. Safe mode helped, I managed to trace the program to a global userscript I had installed. It's fixed now.
Glad it is fixed, thanks for posting back.
