Just overnight, all photos disappeared when I open up email, bookmarks, etc. in Firefox. When I open in Safari, all photos/visuals are there.

Try reading the article Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should. It has lots of suggestions that might help (I'd try clearing the cache first).
