Hi For the past week to ten days I can no longer send email from Thunderbird. I get this error message: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <unknown[2a01:e0a:8e7:3350:f89c:d877:fbb2:84d1]:51018>: Client host rejected: Access denied. Please check the message recipient xxxx and try again

I haven't changed any settings and don't connect via VPN.

Hi everyone,

We've been experiencing an issue with image rendering in Thunderbird for quite some time. Since at least version 128.7.1esr (and possibly earlier), images in emails are displayed at their maximum size, ignoring the defined height. When you resize the email window in Thunderbird, you can see, that the height of the image is switchting between the defined height and ignoring the height.

This issue occurs only in Thunderbird—other email clients and webmail services display the images in our mails correctly. Originally, we used the following code in our signature in our company:

Since Thunderbird seems to ignore the height attribute, we started using a style declaration with "!important" as a workaround:

This problem affects any embedded images in emails.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows when this will be fixed? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Hi - I've set up archiving and it is mostly working. However, in some folders there are a few messages that won't archive. I can select them and press archive - but nothing happens: it doesn't archive the message, there are no obvious error messages, etc.

Other messages in the same folders do archive so I don't think it is an issue with the archive settings - but there's something about these specific messages that is causing the problem. However, there's nothing obvious I can see about these messages that is different from those that do archive.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Email worked as late as 4:54 P.M. this afternoon. That is the last time email downloaded. Sometime after that the issues started.

Every operation that moves or downloads messages fails and the common thread seems to be permission to write to various folders: -downloading messages unable to write email to the Mail box -sending messages cannot put the outgoing message into the sent box -Deleting messages cannot put the email into the trash folder

These events all produce windows with explanations of the perceived problem. One example attached.

This user has "full Control" permission on Thunderbird folders, but Thunderbird cannot write to the folders from within Thunderbird.

The inbox folder and the trash folders have been repaired.

Outside Thunderbird the User can write a .txt file to all folders down to and including the pop.[provider name] folder.

The latest version of Thunderbird (128.8.1esr(32-bit)) has been downloaded and installed. Thunderbird has been restarted and the problem continues.

There is plenty of disk space.

The operating system is Windows 10.

Sure would appreciate some guidance to get this working.

I would like to know whether the Thunderbird supports sending mass emails via Mai Merge with iCloud.com. When I use my email (xuweikang2015@icloud .com) and try to send messages via Mail Merge in Thunderbird, it has an error. It shows the message sending failed. Because it couldn't connect to the sending server (SMTP) smtp.mail.me.com, the email couldn't be sent. The server might be temporarily unavailable or refuse the SMTP connection. Please verify whether your sending server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

Bonjour, Thunderbird/ Windows 10 home /64bits 1 Depuis 2025/03/15 Envoi de mail impossible (réception OK) 2 J'effectue 2025/03/17 une restauration de Windows au 2025/03/12, date du dernier message envoyé sans problème. 3 La restauration dure plus de 6 heures ! mais j'ai un pop up Microsoft qui confirme la bonne exécution. 4 Je vérifie le fonctionnement général : Internet OK, profil Thunderbird OK, Points de restauration antérieurs au 2025/03/17 disparus; compte tenu de la durée exceptionnellement longue de la restauration je pense que windows a dû procéder à quelques réparations..il semble d'ailleurs un peu plus "agile". 5 J'effectue une double sauvegarde de mes données (profil TDB inclus), au cas où... 6 Je démarre Thunderbird , ECHEC !; message "Couldnot load XPCOM".

Je propose de désinstaller TDB puis de le réinstaller; qu'en pensez vous ?

Thunderbird has pretty much disappeared from my iMac, and I cannot find a way to solve this problem. I've restarted Thurnderbird multiple times and restarted the iMac. It came out of nowhere, and I do not know what to do. I've attached a screenshot with the screen that pops up when I open Thunderbird. I haven't used my Win 11 laptop in a while. I started it up and let Thunderbird run. It had several months of emails to download, but has now stopped at early March. I asked it to continue and get a message "Unable to write email to mailbox. ....." I know there is plenty of space on the harddisk. I cleared out a lot of the junk emails from earlier months and emptied the trash. Rebooted. Updated to latest version 128.8.1esr. Still same error message.

Is this due to some setting? I use Thunderbird for multiple gmail accounts. Need help because I have a huge inbox and it needs managed into multiple folders and I can't seem to get it to work. It worked one time in the past but I am not sure why it doesn't now.  ???

Number 2: Does the retention policy for a folder actually send a delete instruction to the server? I want to know how I can do that so I am actually deleting messages at the server as well. What all info do you need?

Hello all:

For the last few months, I've been having some issues with frequent lockups while accounts update. I'm now having issues with indexing, and being able to search and find messages. According to the activity screen, indexing freezes around 97% on the Inbox of my main gmail account (~17,800 messages total in that inbox, indexing stops around 17,300 and hangs).

Version: 128.8.1esr OS: Windows 10 Accounts: 4 all IMAP (2 gmail) Largest inbox: about 17k messages

Troubleshooting done: 1. Repaired folders 2. Rebuilt global Index 3. Removed All mail from sync 4. Excluded antivirus (Windows Defender)

Is there any way to find the email is causing the lockup? Any other suggestions?

After the latest update I noticed a syncing issue. I have thunderbird on my imac and I also check my email with my iphone using iphones mail program. I am using IMAP. What happened after the update is when I delete a message in thunderbird it doesnt delete from the mail server, so it still shows in my iphone. If I close out of thunderbird it then removes it from the server. Everything else is syncing correctly, like showing a message read or not etc. Just the deleting doesn't happen till thunderbird is closed. Am I missing a new setting that has to be changed now? I have used Thunderbird for my email since the start and this is the first time I have had an issue. Thank you

Hello, I stopped seeing sent emails in Thunderbird v. 9.0, Android 14. The email is sent, but not saved in the sent mail. Sending emails via computer (Thunderbird) or after logging in via the web interface works, emails are saved in the sent mail. The problem is only in the mobile application and only for 1 account. The other 2 accounts (gmail and center) work without problems, emails are saved in the sent mail. I tried changing the server settings for sent mail in the given account - without success. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Thank you
