FF-v11., MAC OS 10.6.8

Bookmarks Sidebar hangs up. Sometimes it is fine, other times you cannot see that you have dragged a bookmark into it, but X-Seconds later it shows up.

Also, when it hangs, you cannot scroll UP/DWN.

Hi drmajor,

Does this only happen with the bookmarks sidebar or are there other times when it hangs?

I'd try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.

If you have other hangs/slowness, you should take a look at our Performance Troubleshooting section. There is some great information in there as well.

Hopefully this helps!

Just in the Bookmark Sidebar- that I notice.

I am pretty sure I SAFE started at least once. I deleted History and Cookies.

At this time, frustration set in and I've downloaded FF-12 Beta... just to see if the issue goes away with the version 11.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You can also try to repair the places database with this extension:

loaded FF-12 Beta. didn't get time to see if it was OK in the sidebar as it would not let me into a specific logon sight, so I had to reload FF11. Issue still there with reload. Will look at the files you sent. Thanks.
