Thunderbird 158 Meadow slow sending emails now - Windows 11 Computer

SH

My Thunderbird (158 Meadow) is very slow sending emails. Up to 30 seconds for an ordinary message. Most often thew people are in my address book but even if they are no the problem is common across all outgoing emails. Windows 11 Laptop 26H2, 64Gb Ram, 500Gb SSD, 200GB free, i7 (12 Edition) Intel I have already checked that my Windows Defender antivirus has the profile folder as an "exception" Compressed my "send" folder Run "repair" on my send folder I have about 500 emails in my send folder I have an IMAP set up with SMTP set to 465 SSL/TLS Normal password I have checked my webmail and that works fine so it is not a problem with hosting etc.

The most common fallacy I see on this site is the view that there is some sort of correlation between webmail and a MAIL CLIENT.

You post is full of undefined things. What is an "ordinary message"? or even the timeline up to 30 seconds makes me wonder what you think is reasonable. It frequently take around 30 seconds for my Thunderbird to look up the Google DNS entries connect to the server, authenticate and send the message and that is with an uploads from Starlink.

So let's look at some facts. What mail provider are you using? Despite some folk thinking otherwise, not all mail providers are created equal. you email is provided by what host? How do you connect to the internet? WIFI or over a congested local network with a group of music and video streaming as competition, perhaps even a "content creator" uploading their videos. What upload speeds do you achieve on your network? (Consumer products are usually around 10% o the download figure.) Perhaps test your before assuming an answer to the question. https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/6283840?visit_id=639284065693036259-2287654597&p=speedtest&rd=1

Some things to clarify; the email contains the addressing information. Your address book is entirely irrelevant. The state of the windows temp folder can be critical, as emails are written there while being assembled and sent. Run the relevant windows tools to clean the temp folder. (there should be nothing in there older than today really) https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/windows11/how-can-i-find-and-delete-temporary-files-in-windows-11/4484014.
