Thunderbird mobile and on Ubuntu do not fetch Mails anymore

pascal.galle

Hello,

For a few days everything worked perfectly. Now suddenly I cannot fetch any emails on neither Thunderbird for android nor Thunderbird on Ubuntu. Both latest versions at time of writing. Sending mails works. Another email client works, another email address from the same server (but different domain) does work.

Any ideas what I can do?

Hi Pascal

Thunderbird desktop and the mobile version are completely different. The andoid app builds upon K9-Mail's code base. They don't share code that would cause an issue to present in both apps.

Who is the email provider / domain at issue? What error message are both TB apps displaying?

Try compared the account imap/pop settings between the working client and Thunderbird's for differences?

I Saw that some emails get through. I don't get any errors in either. Might there be some automated blocking of emails/spam filters that might trigger? Is there a way for me to see the mail logs on the client side somewhere on desktop to check that?

Domains are both mine, same provider. Mail server is the same. Settings are correct everywhere.

Best regards

For Thunderbird desktop specific support, you would be better asking within the desktop forum.

On the mobile front, you can enable debug logging to see what's happening in the background. Navigate to settings > general settings > debugging. See guide here.

The mobile app doesn't have any filtering at all (blocking, spam or rule based).

You indicate settings are correct. Have you changed any settings from their default values within settings > account > fetching mail?

For example, having a local folder size set high is known to cause performance issues as noted by developers on github here.
