When I click on a link from a email in Outlook 2010, it loads up Internet Explorer but not Firefox (default browser).

Try resetting your default browser in the Windows Control Panel. First change it to IE, then change it back to Firefox. Windows sometimes needs a slap upsides the head to remember that preference.
