Time to say goodbye?
I have used Firefox since forever, was a Netscape user in the past
But for about 3 months Firefox simply is no good anymore\
It is more and more sites I can not access with Firefox and have to use Edge instead.
Last example, just now
https://www.cibc.com/en/journeys/new-to-canada.html
See screens attached
This is just one example, many other sites simply do not open, or open properly, in Firefox
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Thank you

That website is OK for me.
Try Firefox Troubleshoot Mode to see if the problem goes away.
You can restart in Firefox Troubleshoot Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help, select Troubleshoot Mode and click Restart in the "Restart Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode?" dialog that opens.
When the Firefox Troubleshoot Mode window appears, select "Open".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Troubleshoot Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Troubleshoot Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again. (If you can't exit Firefox Troubleshoot Mode, please see Firefox is stuck in Troubleshoot Mode).
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
I only see this with uBlock Origin installed, caused by the EasyPrivacy filter list.
Thanks guys but
1
tried the troubleshoot and did not work, will see if reinstall helps
2
I do not have uBlock Origin installed
3
see the image how this site loads in Firefox
needless to say if opens fine on Edge
Amazon is loading fine here.
Does it still happen in a new profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
Hey Zero
Thanks man
I will simply reinstall and hopefully resolve the issue
Now it is slow, did a speed test
Firefox 44 d and 28 up
Edge 216 d and 91 up
Can't take it anymore!
Cheers!
If I check this in the Inspector then I see a visibility:hidden rule that is causing the images not to show up, disabling this rule makes the images appear. I'm not sure what goes wrong here, but those images appear as soon as I resize or zoom the page forcing a re-rendering, so this looks like a problem with dynamically adjusting to the page width.
Modified
The problem with the Amazon website looks more like a problem with security software than mangles the HTTP response headers making part of the page source appear as plain text.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:
You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings) or click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.
"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"
"Clear the Cache":
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache
Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.
- switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems
You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like blocked content.
Hi guys
Did the reinstall, speed got up to 257 and 92
Amazon site is now fine
CIBC site is still not showing the pics, but the zoom tip solved it

Hopefully I wont have to say goodbye

Do you have a virus, Marcelo?
FYI, I run FFox in Linux inside a virtual machine inside Windows. I have Windows blocked from accessing the Internet and I have Linux linked directly to WiFi at the MAC level of the network protocol stack. That allows me to run Windows as the administrator, with no Windows login and no antivirus at all, like Windows back in 1993. PM me if you're interested.

I do not think so
I did a full scan with both Defender and Avira and nothing was found
As for the offer, thanks, too complicated for me!!!
Hey guys
Another site that does NOT load on Firefox and loads fine on Edge
https://registration.ticketmaster.com/rbctstheerastour
too bad ...
It loaded fine in my 'too complicated' system.
Ticketmaster site loads for me. When you refresh your profile, signing into your Sync account may carry across problems from your old profile. If it still happens in a new clean profile, try disabling your security software (Avira).
Did you try the basic troubleshooting steps I posted above ?

not yet my friend, tks again
I tried reinstall, twice
Both time I was not able to remove it completely
First time I found a folder on my desktop "firefoxoldfiles"
I deleted it and uninstalled again, this time using Revo Uninstaller
As I did first time, I run a registry clean and restarted before installing again
Guess what, after install Firefox showed a message I was reinstalling it!!!
I will have to format windows ...
but will try your ideas first

hey Mark, easy brother!
I am the problem!
it is "complicated" for me!
cheers!
I'm leaving Firefox as well - although it will be a gradual process.
For at least two years, hyperlink buttons in pages have not worked - e.g Ebay go to password page, Google Gmail ID's also go to password page. But, frustratingly, other links when using a website.
They did, however, work in the Private view mode. (Today, the ebay password link no longer worked there - so its a different browser I need - that is making me feel, at the moment, its the final straw).
I'm on the latest update of Firefox (having lost everything once, I backup the profile every time before updating).
I was able to tolerate this (until today's development) by bookmarking my open windows before closing - but at the risk of losing all unbookmarked websites on a power failure or on my mistakenly closing the browser window - which is a painful although not frequent experience. I thought I could work around that by making a very fast "all tabs" bookmark during the day - and tried installing bookmark manager extensions to control the destination and/or search for and find the folder by name (as FF has no way in itself to search for folder other than visually) but the three I have tried haven't worked.
Trying to deal with the original problem, and looking into the reasons for the extensions not working seem to take me well below the bonnet of Firefox. I'm not equipped to deal with the IT technicalities of that - insofar as I have spent time trying to follow suggestions to resolve them, they haven't worked and have absorbed my time disproportionately. I'm here to use it, not fix it.
Ironically - in order to log in, so I could post this comment, I had to use a different browser. I can understand the message saying I need to allow Cookies for the Mozilla Support site, which I did, but I haven't been able to find what the next words - about "Local storage" mean, or how I could resolve its requirement.
So I'm now looking for a browser suitable for a user, not an enthusiast, that doesn't have these snags, works efficiently, gives privacy and enables efficient management of bookmarks. As I say, the transition may be gradual, but its time.

Could you please start a new thread for your question?
Then you can provide more information like your operating system and installed add-ons.
