Two days ago, I updated my system memory from 8GB to 16GB. As soon as I did so, on both Fedora 31 and Windows 7, Firefox became extremely unstable - as though it was running out of resources extremely quickly. On Fedora, I cannot browse at all - immediately upon loading a page, the tab crashes, including internal pages. On Windows, I can get away with some browsing - although crashes are still common.

For now, I'm going to disable hardware acceleration. However, I'd like to further analyse this and see if I can't find a fix.

To date, I have tried the following:

- Updated to firefox v86 (This worsened the problem, and I downgraded to v74)

- Removed and reinstalled my GPU drivers (no change)

- Disabled paging on my Windows system, and moved hiberfil.sys to a drive with more space using symlinks (no change)

- Increased swap space on my Fedora system (made things worse. Don't fuck around with swap if you don't know what you're doing, please)

- Moved profiles out of the appdata dir and created a new, blank profile (no change)

- Completed a full round of Memtest+x86 with no issues

Below are a set of six crash logs. There are more, but information overload. They are fairly similar, but I lack the familiarity with the Mozilla codebase to properly examine them.

Hi, I've been trying to get Widevine to install on Firefox for a few weeks (,month+ maybe?) but after all this time I'm left with the message Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. will be installed shortly. I've already tried reinstalling stuff, safe mode, enabling and disabling DRM and all the other stuff to help so at this point I'd just want to do it myself. Can't find any Widevine download or really any way on how to install it manually though, which is where I need assistance on, again I've already resigned to the fact that Widevine autoinstalling through firefox is broken and I'd rather try and do it myself manually. Thank you.

OK. I use Buckeye Express as ISP. I have a Buckeye email address. There is a Buckeye URL address that allows me to see my email online. To sign out of my web buckeye account i go to a menu that has a Sign Out link. The address of the link is javascript:funSignout(). I can search the code on the webpage and find the link.

However when I click the link in the email program, the Sign out Window does not open in FireFox.

The sign out window has two buttons and a message: Do You Really Want to Sign Out? YES or NO. you have to click YES to sign out of my email address. I can get out of my email address by closing the FireFox Browser. Then I can go to the URL address and sign in to my email address again. If I do not close FireFox When I go back to Buckeye Mail, I am already signed in.

So the javascript window does not open in FireFox 86.0. If I use EDGE or CHROME, the window opens. I can click YES and sign out. I have enabled popup windows but the popup is generated by javascript on the website. But the window doesn't open. This is a relatively new problem. Firefox 86 (64 bit). Help

Hello!

I’ve been having quite strange problem with Firefox for a few months since version 80.X on clean Windows 10 (reinstalled from scratch after secure erase; the latest 20H2 version with all updates installed). It’s worth to mention that I’ve been using Firefox like 15 years and never had an issue like this before.

Firefox just fills up system drive completely (50+GB to 0 bytes remaining) few times a day under active usage. It happens randomly and I can’t identify the reason. I also can’t find any actual files saved on disk because it seems to be related to NTFS cache. I’ve tried disabling the following settings with no success:

browser.cache.disk.enable cached-web-content_cached-web-content browser.cache.memory.enable browser.cache.disk.smart_size.enabled

And couldn’t find any solution unfortunately. I usually have 2 windows opened ("common" and private) with 10 to 30 tabs each which is not much at all for i7/16GB I believe. This problem is extremely annoying and seriously affects SSD life so I'd really appreciate if someone would help me to resolve it. Thanks in advance!

Just yesterday some common redirect sites like adfocus and adfly stopped loading in nightly. example: http://adfoc.us/serve/?id=27122877684764

I'm guessing this was done fore security reasons as most people would fall for the fake downloads (or sometimes the entire page redirecting to a new tab when clicked anywhere on it), but it would be great if an option could be added to allow it to load like with: [hey cor-el ask for the link since I don't want this post to get removed :P]

since if you know what you are doing you do eventually work your way to the correct download even if it involves inspecting > deleting the invisible buttons covering the page...

There might already be something in about:config to do it so if so please let me know.

For some time now (at least a year), I've noticed that the colors in videos are slightly off. The problem never affects still images, just videos (on every site).

Most users wouldn't notice the problem as it's quite subtle, but all the hues are all slightly off: Reds are slightly more yellow than they should be, yellows are slightly redder, blues are slightly more cyan, and cyans are slightly bluer.

I don't use other browsers so not sure if this is a Firefox problem or a wider problem.

I don't have Flash installed so (presumably) the videos run in HTML5.

Often when I open a web page, I have extra words showing, programming words from scripts perhaps, that should not be visible. Often these cover things I do want to see. I've slogged through several upgrades of Firefox but it never seems to get fixed.

This happens only on Firefox; it doesn't appear on Chrome or other browsers I've used, and it isn't isolated to one or two websites, though it doesn't happen on every website. Images attached to illustrate.

Mac 10.15.7. FIREFOX 86. Groups of bookmarks are gone. This happens regularly. Bookmarks I rebuild yesterday, that group is gone today.

The bookmarks are "there" but not in their group. Takes hours to re-sort.

It takes a LONG time to rebuild from HTML backup. The jsn backup is ok, but it wipes everything I have done today out. I backup almost every day.

I have thousands of bookmarks = hours of work. Then I have to spend many hours rebuilding. 1/ What is happening? 2/ How to stop it?

I put "bookmarks" for the subject but that's just because none of the other options adequately describes my situation! I just got a new MacBook Air. I hate Safari, so I always use Firefox instead as my main browser on Mac. Have been doing it for years. This time, I set up Firefox the way I wanted it, with a specific home page, logged into all my sites, emails, Facebook, youtube, etc etc, and set them all on my Toolmarks bar. ... Then a couple of days later, had to re-sign in to my computer due to downloading software, and lost everything I had done on Firefox! Had to re-sign into all my accounts again as well. Set everything up on Firefox again ... couple of days later, had to re-sign into my computer to due to downloading software ... lost everything I had set up on Firefox, had to re-sign into all my accounts. I would be so appreciative if anybody could tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it! I really love Firefox and don't want to give it up! Talked to Apple about it and they say it's not their issue. ... Thanks so much!!

Is there a way to stop Firefox from suggesting/autocompleting the root URL of pages I've bookmarked? For example, say I've bookmarked https://www.mysite.com/pageone and named it "My Site - Page 1". If I start typing "my" in the URL bar, the very first suggestion is https://www.mysite.com, instead of my bookmark.

NOTE: I have disabled ALL other suggestions other than bookmarks, including common/popular sites (i.e. typing "goo" will not autocomplete with google, because I have not bookmarked any google sites)

I didn't bookmark the root URL, so I don't want it to be suggested. Any way to disable this behavior?

Thanks!

I'm wondering if Firefox might have beeen corrupted in some way, especially because I've downloaded Avast before with no problem. Hi, i got a problem with Firefox 86.0 after last update. Firefox freezes when I switch video, skip ads or go to main page when any video plays on Youtube. But there's interesting thing: if i pause video first and then switch to another, all right. But if i don't pause, firefox freezes with 100% CPU load. I have never seen that problem before.

I tried these steps, but it wasn't helpful:

1. Disable recommended perfomance settings and hardware acceleration. 2. Clear cookie, cache and startup cache. 3. Safe mode with disabled plugins. 4. Refresh Firefox. 5. Full uninstall Firefox and install again.

I don't know what else i can try to solve this problem... Please, help!

I've been having the problem of websites loading slowly on Firefox for a few days now. Firefox itself loads quickly, but opening Youtube for example takes a very long time.

I have this problem since I have a new internet line, yet this is most likely not the problem, since on chrome this problem does not occur.

As a solution I have cleaned firefox and even clean reinstalled it. However, the problem still occurs. I suspect that this is a problem related to my profile. Even opening it without addons does nothing.

Any ideas?
