I cannot get google cache search to function in Firefox
when I try to Google cache search for (certain color highlighted words on web pages) no color highlighted words show up.... A cache search is a great time saving convenience, and I miss mine not working. Is there anything I can do to reactivate it?
Firefox 20.0.1
Thank you, Jay

This is caused by using HTTPS for Google search. By design, details about your interaction with the site are not passed on to the linked site, including the cache viewer.
You have a few different options for dealing with this (assuming you aren't logging in to Google when you search).
(1) Changing your search provider settings from HTTPS to HTTP: Unable to connect to proxy due to automatic https.
(2) Using an add-on to restore cache highlighting: for example, I created a Greasemonkey userscript.
(A) Greasemonkey extension: Greasemonkey on Add-ons site
(B) Userscript: Google Cache Highlight Search Query Terms for HTTPS (screen shots attached showing phrase vs. individual word options)
Please be cautious around userscripts.org, particularly with anything Facebook-related, as there have been a spate of scam scripts posted that subscribe you to FB groups and friend people you don't know.
Hello, and thank you so much...
I followed your advice, using the 2 ( A and B ) approach... .and yes! it worked !
this is the first time I have had the highlighted word cache working in many months. As you know, it can be a great time-saver.
One issue remains....when I pull up the cache page with the color highlighted words, the print on it is enormous......I have to do a lot of lateral and vertical scrolling to be able to see the entire page.
Is there some way to shrink this page, or its print, to normal viewing size?
Even if there is not, this is still a huge improvement, and I am grateful .

I'm trying to think of a reason that the script would change the size of type on the page... Perhaps what's happening is that the style sheet isn't loading due to secure/insecure settings. Could you use the script options to turn off HTTPS, then reload the cached page?
Hi
I installed grease monkey, then what do I need to do to get cache working please?
Hi sparkyy35, once Greasemonkey is running, you can install userscripts to modify how Google works. If you go to my script, there is an Install button in the upper right corner of the page: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/154167
