How do I install a previous version of firefox?
How do I install a PREVIOUS version of Firefox? I had version 149, and it auto updated on the 7'th. After that update, the problem began. The problem is, something in that update broke google maps as it's used on Realtor.com. It's impossible to drag the map with the mouse, I can zoom in or out with the scroll wheel, but then the area I want to look at is off the screen and I can't drag it back into view.
I downloaded version 149.0 and closed Firefox and tried to install it. BUT it starts, says it's checking space requirements and such, then the installer just stops... because version 149.0.2 is installed. I don't want to uninstall it because that'll wipe out all the settings I have and I'll have to redo every da*** thing from scratch.
I don't have time to wait weeks, months or years for enough people to report this bug and then developers fix the bug and roll out an update for it. I need to fix it now, tonight. And the only way I know to do that is to install the previous WORKING version of it.
Could someone please tell me how to force the installer to install version 149.0 WITHOUT having to uninstall version 149.0.2 and then having to redo every fricking thing...
The developers really should have a ROLLBACK utility in the Settings so that when something in an update breaks the functionality, all a user has to do is click the ROLLBACK button and boom, it reinstalls the previous version without having to jump through hoops to do it.
I do not have this problem in Chrome or any other browser, it's specific to Firefox. I do not like using Chrome or the other browsers I have. I much prefer to use Firefox. Someone please help with this, please!

Oh, and before anyone asks, I deleted all cookies, site data, and cleared the cache. It did not work. I'm using windows 11 with all updates.
Hello,
It is generally recommended to uninstall the newest version of Firefox that you don't want to use before you rollback, but it is possible to do it without uninstalling it. Note : this can corrupt profiles.
With that in mind, here is how to do it : 1. Type Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run application, then type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ to go to the folder, then copy the folder holding it all. Save this as a backup, and put it in an empty folder.
2. Download the older version of Firefox you want through this website : https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ and download the installer
3. In C:\Program Files\, create a new folder named something besides Firefox or the other programs, such as Firefox_OLD.
3. (if you want to uninstall), If not, skip. Uninstall firefox completely, and when uninstalling, make sure to check the box to save data, it most of the time saves the data, which is why we have a backup. If uninstallation doesn't work, try seeing if there is a rogue Firefox process in Task manager.
4. During installation, select custom installation instead of standard, and set the installation directory to the folder you created to the installation place, then finish the setup wizard.
4. (if you want to uninstall)Install Firefox normally, and set the installation type to standard.
5. Once installed, immediately disable automatic updates. (about:preferences > Firefox Updates > select Never check for updates.) another way is to create a policies.json file in Firefox directory and type {"policies": {"DisableAppUpdate": true}} or go to windows registry to set DisableAppUpdate to 1. (Firefox)
Additional info : If your profile gets corrupt, you must create a new profile, which is why we made a backup.
Rolling back versions can pose some security risks.
When creating a desktop shortcut, create a new shortcut with the target path of the older version, and at the end, put -P "YourProfileName" --no-remote at the end, to be able to have 2 versions at once.
New versions of Firefox have downgrade protection that might require you to create a new profile.
