Very often it happens to me that I'm not able to tell whether I'm at the beginning or at the end of a document. The scrollbar colors displayed by Firefox do not provide enough distinctive information to tell. (See images attached.)

From the 80's 'til the 10's we had 3D scrollbars with outset borders giving the impression of a raised scrollbar … for a reason.

Thank you for replying.

Your information is very intriguing! Yet, it won't help in my case, I'm afraid, as I won't be able to change scroll-bar border colors in the end.

So, I created a feature request on GitHub for the W3C CSS Scrollbars Styling Module Level 1: https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/12730

I propose to be able to define scroll-bar border colors.
