Ah, the sweet irony of it all.
The easiest way of downloading updates and accessing the Mozilla Support pages is using Safari!
Using Firefox, the updates don't download fully and accessing the support pages takes an age, if at all.

Having just re-installed Thunderbird I receive the following error message when trying to set up my gmail account, which had been working fine before
400.
That’s an error.
The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.
The password is correct as I can login from my browser and I have easily setup my other email accounts - not gmail. Also have re-started PC and Thunderbird.
Help please, regards, Haydn
can my device support kali linux?

We've got around 2000 AD-joined windows 10 boxes, with TB as the mail client, for years. Users are connected as domain users (ie, non-admins). Now IIRC, first TB version installed was 60. TB was updated throughout the years automaticall without a hitch, up to and including version 115.x.
With the advent of 128 we had started receiving calls from users stating that a message pops-up asking for credentials. Taking a closer look we discovered that each and every installation needed admin credentials to be able to do the upgrade to 128.
Is this a bug or normal behaviour? It is definitely a problem, especially for small organizations that do not know how to install manually an MSI of the latest version.

I have Nebula 128.2.0esr (64-bit) for Windows 10.
On the same day of my last Thunderbird update, a mysterious folder appeared in the root of my C-drive with Chinese (?) characters.
The Folder name is: u馐㕈ʶ
(See the screenshots below.)
Inside the folder appears two items:
A Subfolder called: IDB and a file called: .metadata-v2
Inside the IDB Folder, I see these things:
Folder: 3647222921wleabcEoxlt-eengsairo.files and these files: 3647222921wleabcEoxlt-eengsairo.sqlite 3647222921wleabcEoxlt-eengsairo.sqlite-shm 3647222921wleabcEoxlt-eengsairo.sqlite-wal
Inside this folder: 3647222921wleabcEoxlt-eengsairo.files I see:
a folder called: journals and a file named 21 and 22
Inside the journals folder is empty.
Does anyone have ANY idea what this Chinese Character folder is?
Googling it, I see that it could have something to do with Firefox, but I don't use Firefox much and this folder appeared on the same day my Thunderbird updated.
Trendmicro Housecall, Windows Defender, HP Wolf Security -- NONE of them flagged these as suspicious, but I just don't like this mysterious folder on my C-Drive and wonder where it came from and what function it serves.
Thank you!

Dear Sir or Ma'am
On a number of occasions I've experienced a debilitating computer crash, apparently when Firefox wants to update, requiring me to force a shutdown. What kind of psychopathy is it that makes things like this happen? Would it be possible to have a notice with a stated TIME for the update and a way to regulate it? I lost 4 hours of work this time, and it's happened before.
Thanks for You Attention to this Matter,

I recently installed Thunderbird on a new installation of Ubuntu 24.04 using the "Installing Thunderbird manually" instructions. Everything works fine except that Thunderbird doesn't want to use the Thunderbird icon in the dock. Thunderbird opens and runs fine when I click on the Thunderbird icon, but it then puts a new default icon on the dock that looks like a gear instead of just "using" the Thunderbird icon to indicate that the application is running. I've attached a screenshot. When I close Thunderbird, the gear icon disappears.

This morning, I was presented with an opportunity to update Firefox. As always, I chose "Yes". Ever since, no matter what I do, I am completely unable to connect to a webpage. I only get an error message stating that the webpage I'm trying to connect to has crashed. I am offered the choice of reloading only that particular webpage or all crashed tabs. NEITHER option works. It's just a loop that comes back to the same error message. I've used Firefox exclusively for well over a decade. I maintain subscriptions to Relay Premium and Pocket Premium. I have NEVER run into a problem with a Firefox update. They generally only take 30 seconds or so and very rarely involve a download. I spend a majority of my workday online. PLEASE help me get back to the version of Firefox that I had prior to this newest update, along with my hundreds of bookmarks, my Extensions, my Relay Premium and Pocket Premium subscriptions. You can reach me at tjkenning@att.net. I am running the 64 GB version of Windows 11 Home (with Automatic Updates). Thank you.

For a few days now whenever a new tab opens, either by clicking a link in search results or by clicking a link in an email, the cursor jumps to the bottom of the page and I have to scroll to the top of the page. I've recently changed my OS from Suse to Kubuntu. When I used Firefox in Suse there was an option, 'Save Link', which created a .desktop file that I could then click on to load the page. This file could be saved in any folder, which meant it could be filed away in an appropriate place.
When I click on a .desktop file in Kubuntu it will load the page, but there doesn't seem to be a way of creating one with the version of Firefox that has been installed.
Is there a way of one-click creating a .desktop file in Kubuntu that I haven't noticed? (Yes, I can easily create one using Kate, but that could be long-winded for the number of pages I want to save.)

My Thunderbird upgraded to 128.1.1esr this morning and now I'm unable to delete sub-folders and folders under various email accounts. I've tried unsubscribing to the folder/sub-folder and still unable to delete. The folders also show an email count but the folders are actually empty.
Edited to add: also cannot rename folders. Edited to add: cannot create new folders or subfolders.
