I'm sending out an email and when I try to type in the "to" box, my key strokes don't register

I'm trying to send an email message. I can type in the message section of the screen but when I type in the "To" (addressee space), my key strokes don't register...nothing happens.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
