I have received a new strong computer and I have now different kinds of problems. When above mentioned e-mail program was installed, my maps on left side are not in alphabetical order as it used to be. Unfortunately the installer man has not been able to sort that out. The Android Thunderbird app has recently started bunching emails together in the inbox. I'm not talking about displaying a threaded view. What I'm getting is that when I select an email to view, Thunderbird opens up a small group of emails from the same sender. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it either... emails displayed might be from the same day or different days. It's extremely irritating! It means that in order to view an email, I have to poke it once, and then again... assuming that the one I want to read is at the top of the displayed list. Why has TB started doing this, and how do I stop it? Thanks in advance, Ian

I recently installed Thunderbird for use with Gmail. I have created several message filters, but they keep disappearing. I have found that multiple filter files have been created:

Running : Win 10 Vs: 145 I have many archive annual folders for a number of email accounts. I tried to archive messages today and nothing happens. Should a new annual folder be created for the group of messages I select, or do I have to manually create the folder?

My archive location is setup in the account settings and I've used it many times in the past. What am I missing?

I'm trying to add my school email address to Thunderbird, but I keep getting a "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." error. I know that the username is right, and for the password, I've tried using the right password vs. leaving that field blank. For the configuration, I don't know if that's right.

The auto-configuration finds a configuration in the Mozilla ISP database, but that configuration leads me to the aforementioned error message. If the configuration is wrong, how would I go about finding the right information?

Alternatively, might it be the case that my school (the organization) has disabled using Thunderbird for our email. For any help looking into this, it's a @berkeley.edu address.

There were problems on the email server. As an emergency solution, a new access was created by the service provider for this email address. However, this does not contain the old emails. Unfortunately, I have already synchronized and no longer see all the old emails. However, I have now seen in the search function that I can still see the old emails in Thunderbird, but I cannot open them. You can see in the attachment that i can see emails when searching. But if i want to see one of the items ther ist the information "Keine Nachricht gefunden". How can I access these emails?

Please consider a slight change in the new feature where on the bottom right we have an opportunity to click on "as read" or "delete". Great time saver, but for heaven's sake you bring up the Thunderbird anyway. Come on ! ! ! ? The short cut is so we don't have to bring it up. What good is this new feature if it is exactly the same number of clicks as if you didn't have this new feature. Walt

I have several e-mail accounts on my own domain, via GoDaddy. They suddenly switched their e-mail server to Exchange, which forced me to switch from Thunderbird to Outlook. Can I switch back, yet, or can Tbird only handle one Exchange account?

I am temporarily using Win 10 (with security updates) but will regain access soon to a PC that can run Win 11.
