Hi,

Generally, what you describe should work if you enable Sync for the corresponding data types.

However, there's a dedicated backup feature in Firefox. You can learn more about it here: Restore your Firefox browsing data with a backup file.

Firefox Sync is meant to sync data between devices, but only the data types enabled in your Sync settings will appear on the new device. Signing in alone doesn't always mean everything will immediately come back.

Try this:

1. On the old device, open Firefox → Settings → Sync. 2. Make sure Logins and passwords, Bookmarks, History, and other data you need are selected. 3. Leave Firefox open and connected to the internet for a few minutes so the data can finish syncing. 4. On the new device, sign in with the exact same Firefox/Mozilla account. 5. Open Settings → Sync and check that the same data types are enabled. 6. Give it some time to sync, then check your bookmarks and passwords.

If you have already reset the old PC and the data was never successfully synced, unfortunately Firefox cannot restore it from the account.

Also, Firefox Sync is primarily for syncing, not a traditional full PC backup. For important bookmarks and passwords, it's a good idea to keep a separate backup as well.
