Firefox asks for authenticator app code when I try to log in, but I never set one up

sean03smith

Hi, I recently bought a new phone and was trying to sign in to Firefox on Android. However, after entering my password, it told me to enter the code from my authenticator app. I do not use an authenticator app for anything besides my university account, as I prefer to receive 2FA codes via text. I also do not recall setting Firefox up to use 2FA. Now, I am logged out of the account on all my devices as they ask for a code in an app I do not have access to nor recall setting up. I hope there is a way for you to help me beyond deleting my account, as I'd prefer not to lose my bookmarks. Regards, Seán

Could you try to use the authentication app for log in. After that, you can check if you have set up it somewhere for your account.
